"Guacamole stalactites" is a term that likely has never been used in the history of mankind until today. Most excellent.

Wow That's a new one!

My elderly neighbor put a gallon of coolant in his Caddy engine by accident. I never got to see the aftermath but I know he ended up with a new engine LOL.

Genius! The E9x M3 community can learn something from this. The guacamole looking substance holds the rod bearings together. And, of they fail, the guacamole prevents the rod from shooting out of the block!

True.

I Googled it and it only shows up twice: this forum post and the original Jalopnik article.

I wonder what kind of noises that engine was making when the owner brought the car into the shop!

Reminds me a guy I kind of knew... who had a Jetta GLI back in the day. He drained the manual trans fluid... dropped in two new liters of gear oil... when he went for a test drive the car couldn't move out of his garage. The clutch would just smoke and spin in place. Turns out... he filled the flywheel inspection hole/cap with the two liters of gear oil and NOT thru the speedo cable as was the case with those Jetta/Golf MkII's! lol That was a pretty costly lesson!

Reminds me of the guy who got flamed for putting NOS drink in his crotch rocket because he thought it was actually Nitrous Oxide.

For everyone's amusement here's that thread. Epic troll or typical GSXR owner, who can say?

Nice, I've heard of people doing that but have never actually seen the damage done.

My all time favorite though happened years ago. This was in the last 90s when HID bulbs were coming online in headlamps, and I knew this kid from a local speedshop that heavily dipped his halogen bulbs in some kind of blue paint (you know, to get that super fly blue/purple tint). The bulbs got so hot, they exploded and melted his headlight housings (this was a Honda Del Sol). Absolutely the funniest thing I've ever seen in relation to stupid car mods.

Couldn't make this up...

...probably saw one of those memes on FB. Most of you will know what I'm talking about.

Mini Owner Pours Washer Fluid Into Engine Instead Of Oil, Disaster Follows

"For most people with even a vague understanding of cars, it is quite obvious that engine oil should be put in the engine.

Unfortunately for one Mini owner in Germany, she never got that memo and when prompted that her car had low windshield washer fluid, she decided that pouring 5 liters of the stuff into the engine would do the trick.

Shortly after, the woman noticed plumes of blue smoke from her exhaust and took the car to a local mechanic. That’s when the shocking discovery was made.
As soon as mechanics opened up the Mini’s engine, they were presented by a thick, foamy sludge engulfing the engine and underneath, found that much of the block and engine sump were covered in the same thick goo.

The images, posted on Facebook by a BMW Club in France, don’t say what happened next but we suspect the owner was left with two options; sell the car and buy another one or fork out the cost for a replacement engine."
