Good thing there are alternatives.

I skipped the E60 generation and I am prepared to skip the G80 too of necessary.

+1, also I wonder why BMW doesnt do CF hood, crash rating concern? Limited return in weight reduction/balance per cost?

If you are referring to the 7er ? This does not apply because it has CFRP panels.
