Tire Insurance Replacement with Different Brand / Model Tires?
Those who have wheel and tire insurance, have you ever had two or more tires in need of replacement on a single service visit, where you were able to have your service advisor replace all four tires with a different brand / model tires and where you paid the difference in cost, if any?
Both of my front Goodyear Excellence RunOnFlat's (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....utoModel=750Li) need replacement and I'm considering either the: Continental ExtremeContact DWS (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....r+After+9%2F10) or the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....r+After+9%2F10) Upon some quick calculations, I'd need to pay an upcharge of $170 for all four Continentals or $230 for all four Michelins. From past experience, I prefer Michelin, which look better too, but the Continental's have a higher rating and are less expensive. So, two questions: 1. Is it even possible to do what I'm contemplating (I've e-mailed my service advisor, but haven't heard back yet), and 2. Which are better, the Continental's or the Michelin's? Thanks! |
