Exclamation Fuel Pump went out

was just cruising along then all of a sudden a loss of power then I get the "Engine Malfunction, Power Reduced" light come on
Poor car, I had only hit 1100 miles on it...

SA called me today and said they got the parts in and they'd have the car ready by tommorow

WOW, that's on your new 750 right?

I heard about a similar issue on the X6 forum (xbimmers) since the X6 50i and 750 share the same engine.

Did this happen while accelerating or just normal cruising?

Sorry to hear the fuel pump issue - were there any symptoms before it went out? I hope this isnt a prevalent issue....

WOW! Sorry to hear the same thing happened again!

They didn't have a fuel pump in stock or are they keeping the car for tests to see why they have to replace the fuel pump again?

Just wondering why it takes them a week!?!

Sorry to hear this! I canīt believe that BMW are still letting their customers take delivery of cars with fuel pump issues, this has been going on since the E60 face-lift (when the "High Pressure Injection" engines were introduced) in 2007 shortly followed by fuel pump failures in 335iīs... Unbelievable.

I wonder if that's same HPFP issue the 3-series n54's are having? I was told the that particular v-8 dosen't have a HPFP, but the long starting sounds similar.
