Just picked up my 750lix..Updated Pics

I just brought our new car home.It landed in the showroom on the 31 st and I took delivery today. Its a lot to absorb and I am still numb.

2014 ALPINE WHITE 750 li x
Saddle interior
Fine line matte wood trim
( mine came with a matching RWS) This was a complete surprise.
I had drop my 135i at the same time. The contrast is palpable.135 was a no nonsense setup with minimal tech.Just had to jump in and have fun driving it.Coming from such a car the 7 is overwhelming. It has got more buttons to adjust the seat than all the buttons in my 135 .It has got a lot of tech and gadgetry.I need a weekend to get hold of all the details. The auto high beam feature was awesome on the way back home as it was snowing and dark in the back roads.

I have some quick photos from my cell phone.I will be posting them tomorrow.

Update: Finally some clear skies today.I grabbed the chance ..gave the car a quick shower and took some quick pics.I also took the car out for a long drive.Really missing my 135i.There is absolutely no fun factor...but a lot of JOY.Its like sailing on silk. This is going to be a joy driving on our 12 hr long trips.

Best features for me are the HUD,Comfort seats,Auto headlights and the Rear seats.I haven't pushed the car yet in Sports mode. Not until the breakin period is over. The wheels have got to go though.Weakest pack of wheels from BMW on a M sport trim.I am interested in the style 252 rims.I am not sure how they look on a M sport model though.

As promised these are some low quality phone pics in the dark.I am so glad I stuck to the Matte wood trim, somehow Both my wife and myself loved it when we saw it first on the 5GT 3 years ago.

This was one sexy car on the floor. For a moment, just for a moment I had second thoughts :]

A complete surprise here[I was told the fine line wood trim wouldn't come with one],This was not a special order..I am guessing it was installed at the factory or at the port[as I could see fingerprints on the trim].I guess BMW realized their mistake in 2014.

Thanks for advising me to order the car with the options I wanted than pick up a car on the dealers lot.Well worth it.i haven't got a chance to take her for a ride, too damn cold out there.

You were right, the most disappointing feature is the B&O.I might have had higher expectations. Will try to spend sometime with the system tomorrow.

How cold is it there? All my customers have been complaining about the weather on the east coast all day today. It's 70 degrees here in Los Angeles at the moment :P

It's sure a beautiful car, there's nothing like ordering what you want, you get exactly what you want and nothing less! Never settle, especially when you're in 7 territory.

Once you bond with the car, you're going to really love it, what a great combination of colors and wood! Kudos to BMW for the rear hat shelf wood trim! love it.

The b&o isn't that bad. The satellite radio has horrible sound quality as it seems to be rolled off around 12kHz.

So, use a good source like CDROM. The mp3 and the music library won't be much bandwidth as the CDROM.

Next, remember bass takes more power than highs. So keep the volume up.

Let me know if you want my EQ settings.

Thanks,I would certainly want to try your EQ settings. I enjoy music but am not very good with the EQ settings.I have my mp3 in lossless format, but wasn't impressive.I will try some CD's tonight when I say goodnight to the 7.

OSX...You guys on the west coast are enjoying life. With the windchill,it was hitting -20 here and I am not in the worst proof the country.Cant imagine what the folks up north are going through. The garage is like a Freezer.

I can't even fathom that kind of cold!!
I use MP3s that are lossless format also, the B&O was pretty rubbish to my ears, didn't matter where I set it. I had the 7 loaner with b&o for a week and I couldn't grasp spending that kind of cash on the system. A friend of mine that works for Dolby labs sort of thought the same thing, his ears are definitely better "tuned" than mine. It sure does look pretty though. I think the wattage is twice as much as the harmon/kardon too, so crank it up and see how it sounds!! Im sure you will begin to love it. I can't wait to see more photos of your car!

This is an excellent car to drive in winter. It is a very warm car.
We live in Ottawa Canada.
My wife drove it on Hwy 401 at -40, ice storm...
She said it is an exceptional car.

Those wheels are way too fragile.Every owner who has them has multiple tire/wheel replacements. It wont bother if you have a tire insurance but its too much of a hassle for me.

Gorgeous Car! Congrats

Glad that you ordered the car the way you wanted it

Regarding the wood trim - The fineline matte trim always came with the rear shelf trim while fineline gloss did not, no one knows why.

I still think B&O was a miss, will not order it again. Probably need to spend more time fine tuning it but as of now its a no go.

Are the LED head lights standard on 2014 7 series or still an option?

The 303's would be much better than 252's wheels. Just my opinion. And guys I can't decide what to pick up - a M5 PRE - LCI or LCI 7 series...

@SK7: If you are interested more to performance, for sure you have to buy an M5, but if you are interested more to luxury and gadgets the LCI 7 is the way to go Also the 750i/Li have the updated engine
@luvthestck:what better option than B&O I listened this system in an S8, and I was impressed

I was expecting a lot more for the price i payed. Its definitely a better product but IMO I feel like most of my money went into the looks .When the car is stationary,it does sound good with a CD in.

I was almost convinced to get a M5 but chose the 7 instead. It depends on what you are looking for in your car.For a sports car,the M5 was a failure in my book. Its fast but heavy and you can feel it.The DCT for me quickly got boring.

The 7 does its job very well,It doesn't act to be something it isn't unlike the M5.Its certainly a jack of all trades but I would rather enjoy a real sports car if I needed one.

Test drive both and follow your heart.
