As motorized land yachts go, it seems like six of one and half dozen of the other to me. But then I've never felt the desire to own a car that large. Even so, they are both handsome. If someone dies and leaves one to me, I'm sure I can find one or two times a year to drive it.

Is it just me or does it look like the big Lexus from behind? I know several times on the road, I've thought an LS450 was a BMW until I passed it. I know two of my partners have 7s, but I can't say I've ever seen them drive them. I do, however, see LS450s on the road a good bit.

Ya they KINDA did. But not exactly. The F20 was like a step in-between and the new 7 is where they wanted to go with it. The F20s eyes are not as dominant I think.

too me it looks the same. They use to make major changes that were very noticable like from the 745 to the 750. The whole rear was changed.

The LCI looks alright, the headlamp look a bit out of place because the rest of the front end hasn't really changed much and overall shape of the car doesn't really flow with the new headlamp design.

And I hate to say it but I don't really see too many people going for the LCI when the current Mercedes S class is killing the 7 series look wise. I love my 750i but Mercedes has won me over with the current S550 and even the CLS and I hope BMW gives the redesigned 7 series an edge or you're going to see more customers in the luxury sedan segment shift over to the S class.

Thanks for the comparison. Good stuff. Not easy to notice the differences until they're compared side by side.

I dig the LED headlights.

I agree.

But at the same time I am glad BMW is keeping to its "business" roots. Unlike Audi who has killed the once classy A8. Having previously owned a 05 A8L, I would never consider another Audi due to the ugly design ques.

IMO, the LCI still looks good and will age well.

Yes, the 7 copies the Lexus LS design and that is a good thing. The LS is a handsome car. This is something you could not say about the previous 7. Now it almost caught up.

Pictures do not give the new LED's justice. If you have ever seen the new 6 LED's you will notice they jump out and are very obvious. The lights are gorgeous.

rear screens look like headrest mounted ipads, that'd be balllller if it was 2 ipads instead of screens. but the rear idrive controller could be bluetooth and control the screens too. my $0.02
