Same story different car, BMW forum people crack me up.
Spy Photo's - All Negative "I hate it, its so ugly, look at the swirly paint, what are they thinking?" Production Photo's - Mixture "Looks great to me" or "WTF?! Worst design ever, Brand XYZ's model ABC is SOOOO much better!" Production M-Sport Photo's - Positive "OMG, I LOVE THE NEW BMW XYZ M-SPORT, BEST LOOKING BMW EVAR!" I should really save this in a notepad or something. ---- Looks nice to me, sure its a boring "luxury" model, still, looks like nice contemporary BMW that should age well. Can't wait to see what the Laser Lights look like lit up and curious if the price for them will still be as high as for the i8. Sure, Brand XYZ's model ABC might be pretty hot right now, today, but BMW has a talent of making cars who's designs stand the test of time. Check out Brand XYZ's previous model ABC and see how dated it looks. Sure, in part because of the new model ABC, but also in part because their designs are too crazy and their cars just don't age well. When people look ask me what year my e46 is they tend to not believe that the car is 11 (nearly 12) years old. If wild crazy designs are what you crave, then BMW is not the right brand for you, go with Brand XYZ, Lexus or whatever else is supposedly on the same "level" as the 7er, and enjoy it until they release the G11 M-Sport. EDIT: Also, call me crazy, but it seems like Brand XYZ is trying to combine their regular sedans and gran-coupe sedans, morphing them into one car, where BMW is still making them both. So perhaps Brand XYZ's model ABC should be compared to the rumored Gran-Coupe like 7er that is rumored for future production, not necessarily the G11. Perhaps the G11 is better suited for BMW's traditional customers.

This is pre-production as the G chassis hasn't gone to production yet. However this is definitely final trim and finish minus the wheels. There are always pre-production models that the manufacturers build to exact production trim and finish, used for press releases, marketing, dealer appearances, etc. Not sure if BMW didn't have a set of production wheels to put on and just slapped these black ones on to get the car to its destination or simply to keep everyone guessing until the car is officially launched, who really knows and truthfully doesn't matter as we now have a clear look at what the final car looks like. The interior is certainly the final trim, it has all the new design language that BMW is doing on interiors(for better or worse is subjective) and this interior is nothing like the F01 interior. And for all those people that are bashing this car saying the W222 MB and the Audi A8 are clear winners, I will reserve my final decision after I see the G11 in black sapphire and msport trim. Yes the W222 is a home run and I personally love the look the the S-class, especially with AMG sport package, but it's on average 20-30k more expensive than a similar equipped F01, we'll see if the gap closes with the G11. For now, I will wait for more photos in different trim and colors.

BMW in general has lost their touch. Boring designs, boring rides, nothing special to make me go to the dealer and get another one.
They are not as much of a luxury step up as they have been in the past, as even low end carmakers have been providing better quality offerings now. |

Very disappointing exterior design. The chrome parts are a little too much for my taste. The interior looks decent, I am sure the tech will be great with the new touch screen idrive.
