Well...I did it!

I did it. Quit my job and gave them my notice.

Will be traveling for a little while and then look for a job that I enjoy doing. So if any of you folks out there are hiring, please keep me in mind!

I didn't want to start a new job and take time off right away. Been wanting to do this trip so I think this is the right time. The general rule is to have something lined up first but it doesn't always work out that way.

I'll be stopping in Hong Kong for a few days in October. Maybe Nkc can hook me up with a job there. Lol

I understand - to clarify my thought, take the new job with a forward looking 30 or 45 day start time. This gives you a 'small' window to travel and the security to have employment when traving is done....

Good luck though....the freedom you feel right now must be AMAZING

You need the "fear" to motivate you.

Normally, I agree with this. However it seems the OP is in financial circumstances that would allow him to do this, so I say he should go for it. I guarantee you if I were in a similar position, hated my job, and had the means and money to quit a travel a month before starting a search, I would effing do it.

Agreed. I think that is the motivation I need. I've gone back and forth and in the end decided that I need to do something about it. The environment and the job just suck and I dread coming in every day.

Lol. I read in several books that sometimes you have to "burn bridges" in order to proceed. If you know there is no going back, the only way is forward. I am a little bit scared and uncertain but I have faith and I believe that things will work out for the better.

I'll take it!!

We should meet up for a drink if I do end up in HK. There were some other members that asked me to meet for drinks last few times but I couldn't make it. This time I will hit them up for sure.

I quit before I get a job. Why? Because people like us can make money with or with out having a job.
