Arguably the greatest in-game dunk ever

It's been a day over 15 years that this was served up by Vince Carter on 7'2" Frederic Weis, and ESPN has a great article about it.

Nah the guy was a stiff. Pippen on top of Pat Ewing or kemps dunk over Liston and the pointing after would get my vote over this.
It's not like VC dunked over say dikembe the same way
Euro centers are like guards anyways

Best dunk ever. Being a raptors fan, I enjoyed seeing him up close most games. At the top of his game, there were only a few who were comparable..

you seem to think intimidation doesnt factor in to whether a player decides to attempt a dunk like this on some one.
Gerald Green could probably do the same to that poor stiff now.
i dont think VC would have tired something like that on Dikembe or even TD.

In my humble opinion this the greatest in game dunk of all time, from the best 2 way player of all time.
VC got nothing on Pip

Would agree....dunking on a player that doesn't have hate toward you isn't as impressive as Pip on Ewing....they HATED each other....

I was expecting more. I've seen Westbrook do the same thing.

Greatest dunk I have ever witnessed in person was by a guy who never played college or pro basketball....

I played against Carl Pickens in HS.... Carl was a world class high jumper IN high school....went on to play College FB at Tennessee and had a respectable career with the Bengals in the NFL...

Our center was 6'8" and tried to take a charge on a fast break....Carl lept OVER our center and have space between his crotch and our centers head....

I was sitting courtside for this one, right next to Peter Holt.

Now, I'm not hating on Pip. I disowned the hometown Spurs during the 80s/90s and I was a Bulls fan, all day, every day *lol*. And Pippen was 1/2 of the dynamic duo. But when it comes to sheer jumping ability and athleticism, Scottie in his prime couldn't hang w/Vince in his prime. Yes, Pip had a better all-around game than Vince, no question, but when it came to dunking in game, there is simply no contest between the two. When I YouTube search "Scottie Pippen top 100 dunks" I get nothing. When I YouTube search Vince Carter top 300 dunks I get this:

Mr. Carter is the greatest dunker of all time.

I was fortunate enough to watch Zach Levine dunk at Seattle pro am and it's just effortless. He makes it seem way too easy. Amazing but no Carter.

I dunno. Westrbrook dunks ferociously, but VC dunks with ease, almost like it's an afterthought. With Westbrook you can see the mechanics that go into it, the effort. VC, in his prime, it was just like....I don't know, I can't describe it. Kinda like NKC mentioned Zach Levine....to me, he and VC are so similar....like it's natural.

Just saw this last night http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ba...024719295.html

Hard to tell from the pic but that seems to be a solid 36"min vertical for Mr.Carter which is damn amazing for his age. Imagine him doing a dunk contest 1 final time with new tricks and challenging Lavine?
