New Guy, 2013 740Li inside.

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself,

I've just taken delivery of my first 7 series a couple of weeks ago, loving every minute of it.

Totally different than my E60 530i I had back in 2010.

Here are a few pics, hope you enjoy them.

These cameras have already saved my butt a few times

Not really a fan of the auto stop start feature, it cuts in at the worst times for me

Love the new iDrive

Hope you guys enjoyed the pics, as amateur as they may be

Looking forward to learning the tricks of this vehicle

Thanks!!

I'm actually a fan of the LCI xenon lights, I don't really like the 'eyebrow' turn signal the LED headlamps got. Your car is a beauty and I'm willing to bet you paid for more it than some of the US Alpina guys, haha. Nice to see some UAE representation on the board too - my old 5 series forums had people from your area who were willing to do some of the most daring and impressive modifications and retrofits. Welcome!

Agree with you on the headlamps. I initially was ordering the LED's, but after seeing them in person I'm really glad I went for these ones. I do not like that oval/rectangular look at all. BMW's have always had the round angel eyes, and that's how it should be IMO. I even went for the traditional style gauges for a similar reason, my family has the 12' Range Rover, and I just can't get used to not seeing the physical needles, in a normal car I don't need to stare down at the speedo to find out my speed, just a quick glance at the needles and I can determine my speed much more easily. And with the new LCD cluster that changes with the different modes, I knew I'd never be able to get used to it. I usually alternate between Comfort+ and Sport during the day, and with the LCD cluster the difference is day and night. I only wish there was a digital speedo incorporated in the traditional cluster, but its a minor wish at that.

I'm actually really happy with this spec, I have yet to see anything even remotely similar in terms of the colour and in terms of the options. I bought this as a DD and have perfectly speced it up to my needs, just wish I clicked the box for the Adaptive Cruise Control, but no big deal there. I did test drive the A8, S class, and the XJ before deciding on the 7. I felt that the 7 was the best driver orientated car for daily driving, plus with the crazy amounts of technology in it, it was pretty much a no brainer.

They did charge me a pretty penny to get it in here, as they weren't sure if I was actually serious or not ( paid 10% on order and the rest on delivery, they weren't sure if I was actually going to take delivery of it or not ), it's not every day that a 22 year old walks in and decides to customise a 7 series. But she's worth every penny. She's about 5 weeks old and already has 5300kms under her wheels, and she gets better with every km I drive. So in my books, best purchase I could have made.

Thanks guys for the comments and welcome, I really appreciate it.

Thanks BMWrules7,

Red bull is my coffee substitute. Need a little pick me up sometimes.

Thanks MY13,

I didn't like the look of the LED headlamps, I love the round angel eyes that the normal headlamps offer. Don't like the oval/rectangular shape of the LEDs.

How do you get internet to your car? I see BMW online. Is that an option or something only available in the 2013 model year?

Yes Indeed those options are available on 2012 model years in Middle East and Europe but in Canada it would be a 2013 model, and from what I recall internet isn't available on Canadian spec models

What is it with the UAE (really the Middle East in general) that always has the perfect lighting at sunset? Beautiful car though!

I can respect that... I don't care for the new F30 headlights.
