Toyota and Honda certainly have their share of problems too. Millions of cars being recalled has to impact your reliability ratings.

CarMD makes a diagnostic tool, but what's more important is the data they used for this particular report. This dataset came from ASE certified mechanics and contains over 3 million repair records. That's 3 million data points, which is a hell of a lot more data than I've ever seen in this kind of report.

I remain open to the possibility that the data is somehow flawed because of who it is collected from, but you should remain open to the possibility that despite your perception based on limited data, BMW cars may be more reliable than you're giving them credit.

Humans are so fucking bad at this. We like to think we're rational, but we're not. It's hard work to set aside what you "think" is true and look at things objectively.
