Ahh, because BMW's are so well built, lol. It will easily smoke an M4 on/off the track.

Mind you I'm not a Ford fan and own a BMW...

I love BMW but come the fuck on this things is SICK!!! Ford has stepped it up big time. What's not to love; the car is FAST, the price makes it sweet, and it beats the M4 at its own game.

I would love for Ford to make this engine and chassis available in a 4 door car.

It's amazing how much better this is than the last GT500 (the car the GT350 replaces). Ford hit this one out of the park.

Nope.

There will still be a GT500 in a year or two.

The GT350 is a track focused/road car. The GT500 is more for the 1/4 mile straight line crowd.

This car is sick but it is not the same class of car as the M4. The GT350R is fords track weapon to upstage the Z28 but I want to see some real availability and reasonable pricing first. I'm curious what they do with the ZL1 camero to compete.

No, the reason why they sucked the last time around is Ford designed them so they couldn't take wide tires and put the power down, BOSS and the GT500 sucked because of this, the brakes, and the solid rear end.

It's true, BMW cars have plastic, a lot of Excellent Quality plastic. Not cheap plastic, brittle, soft plastic!!!'

Watch your words when you are making reference to BMW in a BMW forum!!!! I don't think we need these kind of insults to our cars, right guys? Or am I taking it too serious?

Great Great Great car. I had an order in for one, but dealers are charging $20,000 to $30,000 mark-up on the car. That puts it right into 2014/2015 GT-R territory(New).

I'm sure you're taking it too serious. Every car has plastic but some have more than others. Hence the reason why some cost less than others. You have dealers saying its not plastic or cheap but I bet they get it from the same companies that Ford or GM, etc, buy from.

But the references to cheap plastic does apply to every car, including BMW. Unless its something in hyper car or super car status. Plastic is used everywhere, in everything. American cars might be made of cheap things but what stays on the road longer and keeps on running with basic maintenance done to it? American cars, Toyota's and Honda's.

If people are true car people or enthusiasts, then they can get past this "cheap" plastic BS that they think only applies to American cars when everything has them. And now that these inferior American cars are dominating BMW, Audi, Merc, etc in all performance categories, people just have to fall back to the "Well its still made of cheap plastic bits" or "My car has prestige". Why would you want complete luxury in a car that actually made for the road course? Not everyone has the same views but the GT350 looks very good to me, inside and out.

By the way, this is the general automotive section and I do enjoy my 135i and it has been a great little car but it shall be the last one I own. But that will be a couple years from now.

Either way, there are already multiple articles about the upcoming GT500, so it is happening.

The GT350 is the track monster and the GT500 will be the HP king.

I would expect a GT500 in 2 years.

Alright, I can safely say that this car is mighty impressive. I was just fortunate enough to drive a 350R around Lime Rock for a bit as well as get a few hot laps in the passenger seat with a pro behind the wheel.

To start I am not a pro by any means with 9 track days under my belt I am still learning so getting in a new 550 hp car I didn't push it too hard but this car is very fast and very capable. It is very well balanced, power is linear and very high in the rev range, peak torque is at 7000 RPM. Ford has managed to hide the weight very very well but it is still a heavyweight at 3900 or so lbs. Shifting was great and for the first time in a long time Ford has managed to place pedals correctly, it is very easy to heel-toe. The car was very confidence inspiring and I have to say in a lot of ways was similar to a stock E92 on the track except it had a little less understeer and possibly more grip. Granted it has 305s in the front and 315s out back so a lot more rubber and they are Michelin Sport Cup 2s. All in all this is a very impressive package.

As someone who is slowly turning their E92 M3 into a track car, the 350R would have been a great other option and I definitely would have been tempted if it were out 3 or so years ago. There is no denying that Ford has something very very special.

I was there as well, I had the 911 riviera matte blue E92.
Everything you mentioned I agree. After having 7 track days at Limerock myself.....The 350 is well balanced, brakes are outstanding with phenomenal pedal feel, suspension for being oem magnetic ride was impressive, great feel to the shifter and the power...let me tell you the car is very similar to the s65 as in no need to shift at certain points on the track but it pulls like a freight train!! On the straight my instructor let me go passed the 100mph limit and I hit 133. When I was passenger he hit 136...amazing driver...all in all the 350 is perfect in my eyes. As you mentioned above...if this car was offered years ago then I would of jumped on it. My m3 is too tracked out already with my cage on order already. I'm happy with my 295lb torque slouch lol

Saw your car... will need to introduce myself next time I was in the Jerez Black E92 parked behind you and to the right. I hit 123 or so on the straight.... I was still a little nervous behind the wheel, though my instructor was willing to let me go over the 100 limit I was still a little timid. Three laps just wasn't enough for me, I am no pro and can't feel that confident that quickly.

The hot laps really showed what the car could do. Highly impressive. I agree with you this is hands down a perfect car. I am beyond impressed with what Ford Performance is bringing out these days. Curious to see what the Ford GT brings.

Thanks for feedback guys! Can you provide some additional details how the weight impacted handling, braking and stability under hard braking? I know brakes seem excellent but there is no way to hide weight completely, meaning in tight corners and s.
