I thought this question would be best posted on the 7 boards. The more I compare the F10 and F01, the less I can see that separates the two:

-Except for a few features that only benefit rear passengers, every option available for the F01 also seems to be available for the F10.
-The F10 can be ordered with Nappa leather.
-Except for the 760, the engine offerings are about the same (the 740i and 535i have the same engine, just different tunes).
-The interiors even look about the same.

So my question is basically, unless one orders the 760 with its mighty V12 or has a chauffeur, what does one get with an F01 that isn't available on the F10 other than more rear legroom and trunk space? Are there major standard features on the F01 that aren't available even as options on the F10? I know the F10 is more recent than the F01 and the next-gen 7 might widen the gap, but the F30 3 Series is newer than the F10 and "keeps its distance" from the F10, so to speak, whereas at the moment the F01 and F10 seem almost identical. I'm just curious what F01 owners' experiences are, particularly if they're also familiar with the F10.

it will be a question of mine is bigger than yours. the F01 and F10 almost looks identical since they are developed in almost the same timeline, whereas the new 3 looks almost identical to the 1 and 6 as they were developed much later....

imo, the 7 looks a lot better than the 5, exterior is different but the dash does look the same.

They look not very different at all. They both look good, except one is 11/12ths the size of the other

im waiting for delivery of a 7 series and was asking myself the same question before ordering..in the end my dealer made me a great offer on the 7 so I went with that, otherwise I probably would choose the 5 serie.

btw, trunk space in fact is smaller on the 7 series.

not sure ,I agree with you. We have a 750li individual there is a good difference in terms of ride comfort, look feel, perception, and handling compared to a 5 series. 7 just feels more luxurious and the 5 seems like a 'A for the effort'. In our case we would not get a 760li instead we have a R8 V10 to bridge that gap. For us the 7 series is the ultimate daily car, the R8 a weekend car.

Mercedes definitely does a better job of keeping the distinction between the S class and the rest of the line.

A seven inch cock looks like a five inch cock. Both will impregnate a woman.

But some people would rather have a seven incher over a five incher.

Funny thing about class, money is neither necessary nor sufficient to have it. But then again the dude is from Philly.
