I was in Nagasaki several years ago. The monument to the dropping of the bomb is an incredibly moving site, shows the extremes of the human spirit. Even now brings a tear to my eyes.

Not sure about any car must-sees, but you gotta visit the ramen museum and gyoza stadium.

Tokyo is incredible, wonderful place.

The Ginza district is great. Roppongi also cool and see if you can make it to some of the temples in the outskirts of the city.

There are some amazing temples in Kyoto.

It's like you can feel the history and culture coming out of the ground there, if you get a chance to visit.

If you are in Tokyo you can visit the Toyota Mega Web. Its a giant Toyota theme park, you can test drive any Toyota available in Japan, look at their latest technologies as well as check out their Formula 1 and other race cars.

Right next door to that on Odaiba is the History Garage museum. It has a lot of historical cars from Japan as well as other countries. Lots of very rare automobiles on display.

Also in the same area is Super Autobacs Tokyo Bay. It has a ton of aftermarket parts, accessories and is a full service garage for locals. Cool to check out and purchase some goodies if you like accessories and such. I don't know if it'd be worth it to purchase aftermarket parts as prices in Japan are not cheap.

All these places are right next to each other on the Odaiba island in the Tokyo bay. You can see all these places within a day of walking and train riding.

The Wangan highway connects to it and if you have a car, you can hit up the popular parking areas like Daikoku Futo where they have car meets and such. The Wangan is also famous for highway racing back in the 80s and early 90s. A lot of high powered tuner cars would run the highways doing 300kph+ top speed runs and compete with other cars. Here's an old video of wangan racing.

+1 on the Toyota Museum and park, I enjoyed it. There's also UpGarage and SuperAutobacs. Ebisu is dope. Tokyo in general is awesome, just get lost and have fun.

I can't wait to go back.
