Exactly. I have a perfectly good pair of Ray Bans, polarized, that cost like $280. I used to keep them in the car, "just in case," but late last year I went out to lunch with my coworker, and she saw them. Didn't say anything. Next thing I knew, people had taken up a collection to help me get new sunglasses, and were acting all sympathetic as if I had fallen on hard times. Very embarrassing. I made sure I wore the carbon sunglasses for about 2 weeks, even in the office to meetings....

Wow, tough crowd. My prescription sunglasses are in Serengeti frames I bought in 2009. Your coworkers would think I'm on welfare or something.

I had a set of Prada rimless glasses that I customized to fit my wide Asian face, then put every single bell and whistle on it (Trivex lenses with Transitions and Crizal Sapphire anti-glare... All of the combined was worth $800+ but as I worked at an optometry at the time, so I got it at cost)... But one nosy roommate saw them on the table and started checking them out, but when he gave it back to me I have no clue where I put it... Where's my committee that'll get me another pair?

Now, I only have a set of old Cole Haans that worked great with a previous haircut (but looks stupid as hell now) that I ONLY wear when I'm driving or going somewhere dark (e.g. movie theater) since I don't dare to be caught dead in them now... Or a set of Prada sunglasses that doesn't have my prescription since I used to wear contacts at the time.
