My male coworker asked that I be with him for his endoscopy. Is that normal?

The procedure went well, although his wife and son thought it was a bit odd that the doctor allowed me to hold the tube. I heard the son mention he has seen me slap his dad on the butt many times going on and off the ice...

Bought myself a Misono knife a year ago, primarily for trimming meats. Needs a sharpen but it has different sharpening angles on each side. I cannot find anyone to sharpen it for me and when i try to use a stone myself i am just not getting it "sharp, sharp".

I like to use a belt sander to sharpen all my blades. I have about a dozen belts for a little 1x30 belt sander up to either 6000 or 8000 grit then I also have several 1x30 leather belts that I use for some different stropping compounds. I have mostly German knives F. Dick, Henckels, and several Shun.

I have a few stones too but I find it to be more tedious & time consuming. I can sharpen several on my belt sander faster than I can do 1 on stones.

Once the knives are sharpened just using a strop and stropping compound will keep your edge for a long time.

I noticed that the little red labels all peeled off our Wusthof knives. It was a shame to have to throw out the entire set and get a new one as a result. The little red labels also peeled off on the second set, causing us to throw out another set. Very frustrating.

Everytime someone puts my Wusthof's in the sink they end up looking rusted afterwards. Time to get a new set, damn oxidation.

The problem with technology is too many people rely on email. I have ONE supplier that calls me and thanks me for orders from Michigan. Everyone else is mostly email...., and I fucking hate emailing.

Quit buying "entry level" cutlery, and never leave it in the sink. Also I wouldn't buy a set, buy a few really nice knives. I prefer Santoku style knives and have several in different sizes. I wash mine immediately after using them, dry them and put them away.

Rusty knives, doing dishes, this sounds like a 3rd world problem thread. Don't you people have staff to cut things for you?

Seriously. Been at least a week since we've had a meal at home. I did use a butter knife for my toast this morning. So there's that.

You fired the servant before you had another lined up to butter the toast? How did you even know where the knife or butter were???

Wifey is a pretty good cook, but she works more than I do, so time is at a premium. We do need to eat in more often, for health reasons if nothing else.

Before you do get a new set, send 'em to me and I'll claim the lifetime warranty I've always wanted to get a good set of cooking knives. Forget this Farberware garbage.

Argh...

I've spent weeks growing my beard back after the clean face disaster. I finally got it back to where it was before I shaved it off and I was happy with it. Tonight I went to trim it and failed to notice the plastic guard on the razor had fallen off. One swipe was all it took. It looked like someone had snowplowed a nice clean path up my neck and onto my cheek.

Oh well, at least I still have the 'Stache and now I have a goatee. Wifey even likes it. Maybe it's time for a new look.
