well is it not obvious that this kind of question has no real answer? i mean its all opinions and we all know this... we've seen it in all of these threads...

and # of posts on this forum does not make an expert or authority on what topics are important in life? this is true but this thread has nothing to do with the importance of life

What I meant with the Post Counts is that he shouldn't just join the forum and then post a stupid ass thread like this. Yeah, Post counts don't reflect upon anything. Basically what it looks like to me is a BMW HATER that just joined the forum to hate on teenagers that drive Bimmers.

I JUST took the time to look at his post count. And you're right. That is an interesting way become a part of the forum. Makes me wonder...

Thanks picus. I appreciate that. I'll be the first 335i owner under 30 sporting grey hairs and high blood pressure!

Spread the Love

I agree with the past several posts....no need for hating here. Man, when I was in residency I had to drive a Ford Escort (and they were not anything like the car is now) and was happy to have a new car. To have med school paid for already is MAJOR bucks nowadays. I think tuition is running in the neighborhood of 40K+ annually.

Still, if you're working 80 hours a week (wink wink to ACGME) you're certainly not goldbricking!

Coming from AZine, I know alot of youth who've gotten new 30+K cars, and they all seem to be good kids. Hopefully, being spoiled from an early age will give them a drive to maintain that lifestyle. I can honestly say that if I hadn't been fed with at least a bronze spoon, that I probably wouldnt have had the drive to spend the first 26 years of my life in school to maintain the style of living that my parents had raised me on. Anyway, to the members of the board, regardless of age, I respect you all as members of the e90post community.

Hahaaha. Tommy, good luck on the LSAT. My roommate almost lost his mind prepping for it. He'd start studying outloud, and I almost went insane listening to him. That law business goes right over my head. Just dont help anyone sue a 3 driver for malpractice

My father says I am part of the lucky sperm club.

After getting a good GPA I got my 1st car in high school. A new Infiniti G35, which was $34,000. My parents offered to pay for a base G35 and I used all the money I had saved up which was 4k to spend on options. At the high school I attended this was one of the nicer cars in the student lot. However, there were a few BMWs, benz, other infinitis etc...

Then when I went to college and got out an area where you see 15 Bentleys a day, that helped put things in perspective. I currently have a leased 330i that will end two months before I turn 23. I fully plan to buy/lease the next car on my own. I really am part of the lucky sperm club but that does not mean I agree with it. If someone hands you a BMW you would have to be an idiot not to take it. When I have children of my own I would get them a regular car like a Honda civic which is still a very fine car... oh and forget privet school, it truly is a waste of money.

Geesh, what college do you go to!? I saw a few bentleys when someone's parents were in town, or a famous alumni or something... but 15 bentley's a day? at a college? That's crazy. I went to private school as well, and, although I understand that some private schools are private for the purpose of accelerated learning, and others are private for the sake of being private, i'd never consider private school to be a waste of money. I definitely felt ahead of the game coming from my high school, and I think the notability of my high school got me the scholarships I got.

I was saying at home you could see 15 bentley's a day but at college everyone drives a crap car for the most part.

I'm 42, an architect, now the head of the Design Dept at my firm, a senior associate, but not partner (yet) and this is my first BMW.

I've driven my share of dented, multi-colored beaters in my life, and frankly it's nice to finally be able to drive the type of car that I've always admired and wanted to own.

I don't aspire to own a status quo Honda or Toyota Prius, I truly enjoy good, distinctive design, in buildings, landscapes, furniture, and automobiles...

However, I will say that I have noted a high(er) percentage of seemingly juvenile posts and/or unnecessary bad language on e90post when compared to the other forums I've been a part of, but I know that doesn't apply to everyone here.

That's simply my opinion, I don't necessarily expect that the forum will change.

Okay. On January I turned 17. Ive had my 330i since late June in 2006. I dont boast. Im not a prick. I dont think im all that. Im pretty humble about it, and my car. I appreciate my car really much. I take care off my car. But since im a Junior in High school, my 1st semester grades went down, so now when the report card came, first thing my dad did was take my car keys until the progress reports go home, to show ive raisen my grade. Ive done that, its pretty high now, in the 3s, or I wish id keep it like that. I go to the best school in the country overhere, its pretty expensive, and my dad knows he worked hard when he was young, so I need to sacrifice somehow to compensate.

Lucky Sperm club? Maybe, I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters. All of them went to Ivy League colleges in the U.S, and for dignity I cant be the one. So now ive realized my gpa must be up all the time.

2cents! Peace
