You should get a Hobart. It will do 34 loads per hour.

I've had a Bosch for the last 8 years, went through a major remodel were it was the only appliance left in the house for 10 months and it still works and cleans dishes like it is brand new. Never had it serviced either.

Bought my mother a nice super quiet Electrolux that was more expensive than my Bosch and its been a POS since day one.

We have a Bosch and I'm not impressed with it. It is quiet, I'll give it that, but the racks are designed all weird so its a completely inefficient use of space - can't get a whole lot of dishes in.

Further, there is sometimes a little crud left on the cutlery or bowls sometimes - not usually terrible, but annoying for what is supposed to be a good dishwasher. But it came with the house so whatever.

Poll: Do you pre-rinse your dishes before loading them in the dishwasher?

Yes, I pre-rinse... And we have a Bosch which I like. Given that I do pre-rinse, we've never had an issue with crud left on dishes so overall pleased with it.

Personally, I just rinse the milk and cereal out of the bowl, make sure there's no grounds left in the coffee cup, then set them both on the drying matt.

Minimal work and extra credit points if the wife sees me doing it.

Yep, there's something about watching me load up the dishwasher that really fires my wife up.

Thought I jumped into first world problem thread. I don't even own a dishwasher in my house, I married one.

It is sort of a FWP, now that you mention it.

If it's any consolation, my apartment has one of those "half" dishwashers from the 1970's.

Still works better than my dishwasher from 1991....

I seem to score many more points if she's washing, and I pick up a towel and dry, ESPECIALLY if I talk to her at the same time

Again, Bosch.

Main reason i got it was because is has a float switch that turns the water off should a leak occur. I don't need a $900 appliance ruining $10,000 of hard wood.

Then found out it cleans dishes very well and is super quite. I rinse before loading and my wife does not. No issues with it over the last 6 years.

I've had this Bosch for 2 years now and it runs great. It is super quiet and aside from a couple of caked on dishes, it cleans well. My only issue with it is that they don't have a heating element so at the end of a cycle, the plastic ware is still wet.

We pre-rinse, there's only 2 of us at home now so only run it every third day or so so the rinse is needed. Never had any issue with build up.

I bought a Bosch about a year ago, seemed like the best value at the time. It does have a filter instead of a disposal but as long as you rinse the plates before hand you never have to clean it. So far so good, what I liked about it was the fact that the front panel has no logo or buttons, so it "matches" with other appliances as long as they're stainless steel.

Wifey hates the way I load stuff in the dishwasher. I must have missed those classes in high school.

We've got Fisher & Paykel dishdrawers. Even though they are the lowest rated appliance out there, in 8 years we've never had one single problem. They're very quiet when they're running. We don't rinse our dishes, but we wipe globs off of them and I don't have to even look at them before putting them away because there is never any crud left on them, unlike the Bosch they replaced. If they broke today, I'd be out this evening buying another set of them, I never want anything else.

0-17: Grew up in places with NO dishwasher.
17-19: My mom was a FOB and my dad never trusted dishwashers; we mostly used it as a cabinet for our dishes.
19-25, 26-now: I either never lived anywhere that actively used one, or doesn't have one.
26: It did such a lousy job even with pre-washing, I neither bothered to use it, nor did the repairman say anything good (as in "for $100 more you can just get a new one"), so I just left it as is since it came with the house. Had to sell it when my business collapsed instead of my original thought of following through with "y'know what? I'll repair it after all... Fucking lazy-ass roommates".

With that being said, I wish I had good news for you.
