Engine malfunction/reduced power

Hi, wanted to see if anyone else has had the same problem with their 09 750i. I am new to this board but trying to get some answers as to what might be wrong with my car.
I purchased the car with just over 50k miles. It seems that every time I put gas in the car it feels as if you giving the car gas and then letting off the gas. Like the car does not want to go. Then usually the next morning I crank the car and I get the engine malfunction reduced power message. The car skips and sputters. I can turn off and crank again and then it seems to be ok until the fill up. I put premium gas and have tried several different gas stations. The local dealership here does not know what is wrong. At first they said it was battery and then the spark plugs. Which I replaced both. The fuel pump has been replaced as well.
Anyone having this problem.
Thanks

Are you turning the gas cap until it clicks once you have finished filling up? I've heard of that causing the engine management light coming on if you don't do that.

I'm with Fastbuck... I'd check to be sure the fuel cap is secure. I had a similar occurrence with my M3 a couple of years ago. I let someone else re-fuel it, and they didn't secure the cap properly.

I have a 2009 750 and this has happened twice this week. I am taking it to the dealer Monday morning. After starting the engine, it shakes and the message appears. I will post any information after the dealer takes a look.

After 2 days they think the problem is the DME and are replacing it. I will let you know if it resolves the issue.

UPDATE: After replacing the DME they returned the car to me. Less than a week later the same problem surfaced. I started it in the morning and the car shakes followed with the drivetrain malfunction reduced power warning. This time the dealer replaced all the fuel injectors. I have had the car back less than a week and so far no problem. Luckily my dealer has given me great customer service which makes this a little less frustrating. I will let everyone know how the car is running in the next week or so.

2009 750 Li with the same problem

I had the exact same problem with my 2009 750Li. The dealer replaced 2 injectors because they were stuck in the closed position. A week later the problem happened again and they replaced another 2 injectors saying they were stuck in the open position. That was about 2 months ago. She has been running fine since then.

Received the drivetrain malfunction message earlier today at about 10 minutes into a drive. The car began shaking and shuddering out of nowhere, worse so when stopped. I pulled over, turned off the car and let it sit for 15 minutes. The message didn’t reappear on startup, but I’ve driven it very very slowly since. Not happy.

I had this once on my 535i. I took it in, it was a leaking vacuum line. The replaced it and no issues since.

This happened to me yesterday. Been over a week since I fueled it so probably an injector? Trip to the dealer in my future.

Yes same problem on my 2010 750Li. I constantly took it to the dealership for 3 years and they couldn't solve it. They just reset it. They even flew out mechanics from Canada, but no permanent resolution. Too bad, I've been an avid and loyal BMW customer for the past 12 years. However this horrible experience will never make me drive another one. Was anyone able to permanently fix this problem?
