Thanks! Followed your advice and it works again now. I don't know why enabling it would render the map always in daytime mode though. By the way, what am I giving up by not enabling the Traffic Info map?

Excellent, worked for me too - thanks.
Looks like you lose some features around the display of road traffic congestion and perhaps some of the triangle warning icons for accidents and road works. Time will tell though. Clearly must be a programatic error, I can't think of any good reason why both shouldn't be possible simultaneously. Hope if BMW are monitoring this that they can take the benefit of dxbf02's analyis and feed it back to their bug fix team!

Just had another look at this now that I've had more time. The maps shown with Traffic Info Map selected or deselected are completely different in terms of colour and definition. The manual states that the Traffic info Map is optimised to display the Traffic Info. I guess there must be a price to pay to see the sky at night!
