The driver is the difference, 458 did 7.29 but drived by a journalist

Anyway to offcially release the video you need to have the track reserved... and that's not happened yet.

I think they will have serious issues with the huge part of the U.S. population that doesn't know anything about the company (ask a 25-40 year old woman if they would prefer to drive a BMW or a Alfa Romeo and see how many have any idea what an Alfa Romeo is) and then for the people that do it has a negative connotation or at least is known for being unreliable.

As a car enthusiast I won't be one of the first to give it a try, warranty or not taking your car to get fixed and dealing with the problems isn't fun. If after a couple of years it proves to have decent reliability then I might.

So now you're saying that the QV went 13 seconds faster than an M4, 1 second slower than a 458 (driven by Sport Auto, not 'some journalist') on the 'ring in traffic?

Absolutely not.... there are days reserved for OEMs where you can drive without finding any traffic but still the track it is not reserved!

And... who was driving for Sport Auto? If it was not a journalist, was the magazine itself behind the steering wheel?

The fact that anyone believes such incredible bullshit is proof positive that we're living in the end of the golden age of driving.
Sooooooo... ready to eat shoes?

Oh... maybe you should also admit that you don't know anything about cars... this is not a 7.39... this is 7.31.98

It was stock with OE tyres!

You can say whatever you want... This car is way way faster than an M3

It can definitely go faster without the top speed limiter that the BMWs have, but I seriously doubt a similar, but heavier car will destroy an M3 by more than 20 seconds on the Ring. I don't believe it was stock. Where is the proof?

The only way to be 100% sure is buying both car and test them yourself!
Otherwise there is no proof for Alfa as well as for BMW, Porsche, etc...
I could say I'm sure because I know it... But you wouldn't believe me because you don't want to...

Anyway I drived them both and the Giulia is much faster, this is for sure!
Then you can discuss about the quality of the interior, reliability, aftersale support....

Agreed. This car would excite me if it wasn't ugly.

Calling it an "alfa" doesn't give you the license to create something ugly and then expect people to fall in love with it because it's italian.

The 4C designers should have worked on the giulia and the giulia engine tuners should have worked on the 4C.

It's a nice looking car with a proper RWD layout, but I prefer high revving naturally aspirated engines so they lost me at "twin-turbo V-6" (before responding that BMW has gone 100% turbo, I'll reiterate that I despised the N54 in my E90 335i and I don't like the N20 in my F30 328i either).

So just to recap:

And it's not just BMW, but every European player in the entry luxury car range that's gone to all turbos all time.

Would buy this any day of the week over an M3. Even if it would be slower, which it isn't. But hey, I'm an Alfa guy

You're an Alfa Male

I'm probably an Alfista and a Ferrarista(no doubt) but only the historical(rwd) cars. And Alfetta/Giulietta,75 America/Turbo etc.

If there wasn't ALFA Romeo there wouldn't have been Ferrari so to speak. Enzo worked(pre war) for ALFA as an engineer.

A great brand and I'm happy to see them coming back with rwd platforms!

Cheers

Very good comment... if you are 5 years old!!!

M4 GTS is a track oriented car in limited edition and costs more than twice!

Many seem to be willing dupes in the automotive industry’s relentless “turbocharged horsepower is better” advertising (a.k.a. propaganda) campaigns. Like all relentless propaganda, it’s directed at the masses using all types of media (and is not intended to sway critical thinkers).
