macan

Been a BMW owner for over 15 years and when looking to replace my X4 and looking at all options (X3, Q5 and SQ5) I went ahead with the Macan S. I drove the Base Macan and liked it as well and I would have been happy with that, but got a great deal on stock Macan S.

Macan is a great crossover, quick, fast and different than everything out there. I've driven BMW for over 15 years, M3, 535i, M6, X5 and X6 and the Macan is my first Porsche. Porsche thinks about performance before comfort, where BMW balances both out. Love the car, perfect for what I want to do with it. Take my Son to his sporting events, go up to Mountains Skiing, and make it my daily driver.

Dad's Macao I had to get those post it flag arrows and mark a few buttons for him, the important ones he used daily. There is a lot going on, that's for sure.

people forget, if it wasn't for the Cayenne Porsche wouldn't be around right now. That vehicle is what keeps 911s alive.

And adding another to my ignore list.

I want to say I'm surprised by the amount of Porsche elitist that troll BMW forums but I am not surprised at all.

I personally believe in simplicity. There isn't a need for much more besides that.

No, I prefer iDrive. Makes it easier than having to look all over the place.

Don't give a troll more attention.

I love Porsche elitist trolling other forums. It's easy to pick them out because they can't help themselves.

I know what you mean! I wear these to work out in as they allow me to move most freely, however, my friends don't want to give it a shot.

Arcades You blocked him because of this? I am confused.

It's funny as I have seen a lot of people on different forums complain about how cars are getting away from buttons as they cannot stand the feel of touch screen. They like the click of a button more so than the numb feeling of touching a screen. Look at how many people don't like the new iPhone and the "minimized" button click.

BUTTON ALL THE THINGS!

I don't have iDrive, but I have heard that the latest versions are much better than previous ones. Either way, people complain about video game controllers have more than A, B, select, and start.

Buttons and gauges, repeat after me - buttons and gauges

In the land of Porsche, you have to pay for all the buttons.

Save money and get less buttons to push! What a winning combo for some people.

Mind if I ask what your MSRP on your Macan S was?

Option wise did you choose the PTV+ or the Porsche Air Suspensions?

MSRP was $64,000
Included PVT+ and did not have the Air Suspension. Didn't have chance to pick options since it was a stock car.

Ahh okay cool.

How is the body roll btw? Was what I said roughly true because I actually didn't ask in detail about PVT+ lol

It handles cornering very tight, don't feel roll at all.

I power slid ours a number of times. It handles phenomenally well - not just compared to crossovers but most sport sedans.

Granted I got a C in physics but some of what the Macan can do doesn't seem like it should be possible from a performance and handling perspective. Good thing the Germans understand all that vector per second per second shit.

I mean don't get me wrong, I've driven a GT4 for a few days and it ain't that. Even my M235 is better in the twisties. But compared to stuff that you'd actually compare it to it's pretty amazing. I had a loaded 5-series as a loaner a while back and would take the Macan over that in a second, just to compare to what most would agree is a pretty good sedan. For longer trips, highway etc Macan is the best option out there.

If you're seriously considering one the S is really the sweet spot. The GTS if you want the looks sure go for it, but the Turbo is really not worth the extra money to drive in the US.

What a snowflake. Run away to your safe place because someone prefers buttons or likes Macans.
I'm somehow a Porsche elitist? Funny stuff.
