Be sure to mention the color matched side blades to them. The black ones look ok on the black car but otherwise color matched is definitely the way to go. If your parents are anything like mine good luck helping them navigate the option sheet. Block a weekend

lol well my parents liked the black parts to the car so I couldn't steer them away from it.

We have a 2017 Macan S in Mahogany Metallic coming. Good thing is that color will drown out the black stuff so it isn't a huge deal.

Kinda weird how fast that happened... o.O

I wonder if anyone made a jab at BMW when they went from making airplane engines to cars and motorcycles. If so, imagine the egg on their face now. ha ha

Yeah, the need for fighter plane engines sort of dried up and a few folks kindly asked that they not build anymore. Weird how that worked.

The world is weird anyway.

So my parents is enjoying the car. They prefer the touch pad over my BMW turning wheel cuz they aren't used to the wheel thing :P

Not until MY21 at the earliest, or so I've been told.

I'm glad they aren't doing that yet.

I'm not a huge fan of the Panamara interior. My father has already complained about the massive amount of buttons on our Macan S.

My response to my father regarding that is... "It's Porsche, they love their buttons."

I find the buttons easier than trying to deal with a touch screen while driving. Once you know the layout, it's easy. My wife's Panamera has the same button layout as my 911 (minus the sport exhaust), so it's very easy

Didn't read through the whole thread, as it's a lot of old "get off my lawn" talk.

However, my GTS is amazing. My E92 is great for what it is...but, as a daily...can't beat an AWD Porsche with seats for four (relatively speaking).

It's pretty easy once you get used to it. I found the homelink buttons hardest to find at first.

I am pretty used to it by now actually. I'm a pretty fast learner with cars generally but there is still a lot of buttons lol.

Enjoy it! That's a spectacular car it was a sad day when we got rid of dad's after 6 months. Gonna have to get another one sometime soon.

So I guess my final thoughts regarding this :P

Think the biggest thing I have noticed is the PDK in the Macan S. Those of us who have the F8x cars, we mostly know the M-DCT feels and drives like a true manual car. Once you stop, it won't roll forward. It is like a manual in all sense of the word. The PDK in the Macan is different, it feels like an automatic. The car will start rolling from a complete stop if you didn't put the car on Hold (That is apparently a thing with P cars apparently). I cannot be certain of the 911 PDK acts this way as well. The Macan S's PDK is smooth when in Normal but gets a tad bit lurchy in Sport. In that sense it feels like a lot of Sport oriented DCTs (and it's sadly the little quirks when it comes to DCTs).

Also, you aren't exactly disconnected from the road while driving, but at the same time you are kinda disconnected. So that's kind of fun.

I find a lot of fun driving our family's Macan S but there is something regarding my M4 that I still prefer. Personally, I think it is because the Macan S isn't a 911. So, to those of you in that little grey area wondering what car to buy, Lexus or Porsche. Decide for yourself, if you want straight comfort of the Lexus or an actual sport car of a Porsche.

It actually says a lot about the Macan that it's "shortcomings" are where it doesn't quite live up to your M4 or 911. For a crossover I'd say that's very high praise indeed!

My 991 GT3 PDK would not roll from a complete stop, not sure if the non-GT PDKs behave any differently.

I've read that the GT pdk has different behaviors compared to the standard pdk.

Well I did learn the Macan PDK is lifted from Audi, so maybe the 911 PDK is Porsche's own PDK.
