Anyone managed to mirror iphone video on idrive screen?

I actually own an X5 with idrive 5.0 just doesn't work with iphone 6. Any experience with this please let me know. Thanks

You cannot mirror iPhone, only Android. For iPhones you can only use CarPlay if you bought it, but it is different from screen mirroring

Yeah, have Apple Carplay but video is not showing though it shows in idrive an option to mirror iphone video, confusing...

If you have the rear seat entertainment, you could install Apple TV via HDMI input at the rear and use the wifi hotspot for both apple tv and iphone for Mirror of iphone

Basically the same as

I believe it shows "screen mirroring", correct? If yes, than this is BMW speak for Miracast which is Android streaming protocol

I checked with our dealership and unfortunately only Android screen mirroring is supported, not Apple. Boo. Maybe Apple can update CarPlay to support it sometime soon.
