Climate control SYNC oddity

I have only had my '24 i7 60 less than 3 days, but I noticed that each time I get into my car...all my settings are there, all customizations there, driver profile works perfect, app is up and running, digital key is great, Climate Control is always to my preferred 70F AUTO, but.....SYNC is always deactivated

Each drive, I have to SYNC the Climate Control, and the next drive it is off.

I have been using the SYNC feature in every BMW, MBZ, Range Rover, Porsche, Audi, Rolls, Bentley, etc... for years and years and I have never once had SYNC turn off after each drive.

Anyone else? A quirk to my 7, or a 7 Series quirk?

I will say though, the HVAC seems excellent in the i7. I am impressed with how quickly it warms and cools...and quietly!

Just recently I was updated to 03/2024.30 by the Dealer and the SYNC issue you were referring to is actually fixed in my vehicle

Thanks. I picked up my new 7 on 3/30/24. I will have to check what software version I am running.

In a way I hope I am updated to 03/2024. But also not...since this version fixed your SYNC issue, and I am experiencing it.

Very confused and annoyed that I picked my 2024 i7 up on 3/30/24 and my car says I am on 11/2023.52.

I even specifically asked my dealer to make sure I am software updated before my delivery and they said done.

Can BMW push the software update OTA? I got my car mid-March so wondering myself... please don't tell me we have to go to the dealer to update.

I called BMW this morning (EV dept). They told me software 03/2024 has been STOPPED and no more OTA for this one until it is fixed...they have found some bugs and issues.

I picked up my i7 on 3/30/24, and it is running 11/2023 software. BMW told me since they have found defects with 03/2024 software, this is the reason my selling dealer left my car with 11/2023.

BMW told me once the 03/2024 software has been "de-bugged" they will s l o w l y begin to send it out OTA. I guess we will see.

When the i4 and iX first came out, OTA did not work for while.

@A-Train Do you too have the SYNC issue? BMW told me this morning they are aware of the SYNC issue affecting the 7 Series, but no fix yet.

I haven't noticed a sync issue, really haven't paid it any attention. But I have noticed that every time I restart the vehicle, the heated seat and the heated steering wheel is on. I keep turning it off, but it comes right back on when I restart the car. Is there a setting somewhere for that?

I haven't tried using SYNC and not sure even how to... I'll explore this wkend.

Yes there is. W/O looking at the car it's in Climate Menu and then on the left there should be something about settings, Individual settings or personalization. You need to turn off the automatic seat heating, ventilation and steering wheel heat.

I've noticed the SYNC issue as well, but in my car it seems that only the word SYNC is not showing, meaning the passenger's side temps adjust based on the changes to my (driver's) side adjustments. Seems SYNC is actually active, just not showing. Yet another bug.....

My Sync works fine while driving though it does not remain in Sync when I next start the car. I would have to press Sync again each startup. It seems the software should (but for me does not) keep it in whichever was the last setup after turning off the car and then turning the car back on for next trip.

BMW i hotline told me this SYNC problem is a known issue for the current 7 Series, and was to be addressed in the 03/2024 OTA software update, but had to be pulled/halted due to bugs founds (some big, some small).

BMW told me SYNC not staying between drives is only affecting the 7 Series.

Small follow up - I have a 03/2024.47 software but SYNC button still works like before. SYNC state is not saved, and switch back to off when entering vehicle.
