I like the Alpina cars in general; they seem more style oriented than pure performance things, such as say they M cars. Indeed, I think M7 would be blasphemy, not because it wouldn't be a nice car, but because I don't think it's remotely in line with what M is supposed to be about (or at least historically about -- given the pending M-bellishment of damn near everything BMW in the years to come, it's hard to say what M is about anymore).

[QUOTE=hotrod2448;12563831]They actually have evolved over the years.

E60: vs F01:

good point... I meant in the sense away from the turbine look.. but I could understand that they want to keep heritage in the appearance... art is in the eye of the beholder..

Beside that they just don't seem fitting on a car of this caliber. I don't understand why M cars haven't had this (even as a factory option) until recently either.
I was assuming that the added cost would preclude the use of monoblocks as the standard brakes, if they used the same material and just made the brakes bigger it wouldn't do much of anything and would actually have a bunch of consequences but of course you are right about bigger and better brakes. If the standard brakes aren't up to a driver's needs, you can always get the carbon ceramics which are a lot lighter and would pretty much never fade.

I read through my post again and realized I wrote better instead of bigger...
