I had major FTF problems within the first 800 rounds. The awesome part is that Sig's customer service is top notch.

I contacted them on a Thursday around 5pm. They answered the phone surprisingly. By the time we hung up, i had a next day air bill in my email. I sent it out the next day. Come the following Thursday, (4 business days later) i received the pistol back via fedex. They put a new slide catch on it, polished the feed ramp and included two new magazines. The FTF issues have all but stopped. I think i've realized that pistol just need to be run a little more wet than others. But very accurate, fun to shoot, feels great.

I went looking for another .45 and was set on getting a sig. But they just didn't feel right. I put 4 rounds through their rental FNX.45 (which wasn't even on my radar) and bought one that day. It sounds huge with it's doubles stack 15rd capacity mag, but it doesn't feel large in my hands. Probably my favorite pistol to shoot at the moment.
If you're impressed with customer service, buy yourself a Glock and see what it's like when you attend a GSSF match. I had a gen 2 G19 that they basically rebuilt right there and then.

The Sig 1911 has that external extractor like the Smiths...prone to extraction failures for a carry gun and if you ever get down on the ground, make sure it's concrete and not sand or dirt.

It was extracting just fine. It would hang up on the feed ramp and the slide would stop with the round halfway in the barrel. The other issue was that the slide wouldn't stay back with an empty mag. Hence the new slide catch. But it's pretty much good to go now. I've only had a few FTFs on it since then and it was run pretty dry. But that experience just has me thinking twice about using it for self defense unless absolutely necessary.

It may appear to be a failure to feed, but check the extractor on the rim and where the feed is catching. I've seen this with external extractor 1911s without a tune and I'll bet this is your issue.

There're a few fixes, but aside from the extractor, you need to check the feed lips, ramp, lube, recoil spring before diagnosing the failure.

1. Is it better to be respected or feared?
2. Why
3. You have a very important business meeting. What wine do you pick, and why?

I'll go ahead and assume you didn't include me because I'm already respected and feared.

1.) Ok Machiavelli... not loved, huh? Respected.

2.) In my opinion, fear can never replicate the kind of loyalty and devotion to a cause that respect and compassion will generate. There will always be something that people value more than they can ever fear you - it's just a matter of time before that is discovered/exploited. Also, I'm a nice person and not a sadistic asshole. Sometimes.

3.) I'd probably put in a call to that person's assistant to try and figure out what his/her favorite wine is. Otherwise, I'd have to ask for the sommelier's assistance - certainly don't know enough.

Answering 1 and 2 together... All kidding aside, it's best to be both, but in the event that you can't, FOR SHORT TERM, probably feared without a doubt. You can turn respect on and off, but fear, you cannot...

As for question 3 - assuming it is at a restaurant, I would probably show my ability to be humble enough to ask the wait staff and depict how well I treat individuals... Don't know enough or care enough about wine without asking...

Good CEO questions there...

Ok - your response to the questions are...

Both.

Unlike Shoei think the opposite works better. Respected and only somewhat feared at times. I lead by example which almost always garners respect. I won't ask anyone to do something i wouldn't be willing to do myself. I'm about as level as it gets when it comes to demeanor. So me getting visibly and audibly angry is such a departure from the norm, it goes a long way in creating some fear. But it tends to result in a fear of letting me down or not following the rules. I'm speaking of a business setting of course. With friends and acquaintances, i'll always choose respect. Though i've been told by a few friends that they are scared of what lies beneath my calm, cool demeanor.

Business meeting? Wine? Screw that, we're doing Fireballs!! Why? Because people buy more and agree to things they normally wouldn't when drunk. lol

1. Respected
2. Probably because it's easier to be feared. That seems cheap while respect is harder to gain and takes a more quality individual.
3. Pfft wtf is wine? Brown liquor or beer, can't do that sissy stuff.

While it is bad form to answer your own questions.....

I believe respect is earned, but fear is a tool that can be used to maintain a clear and decisive advantage in the work place.

For example - I respect my peers, but I DO NOT fear them in any work situational confrontation.

I respect my boss, and have enough of a healthy amount of fear to never publicly incur his wrath.

Privately - he and I have had serious philosophical debate on all matters relating to Credit and Lending, but I always understand my place in the food chain in an open forum.

Fireballs - only in FL, where even the banks close at 4

1. Feared.
2. Then people wouldn't invite me to dinners and lunches. I just spent 20 hours trying to die because my aunt cooked for us. I will do anything not to repeat this experience.
3. Hmm. For business, I'd go for something bland. Shiraz and other grapes that I prefer are too demanding to most.

To be fair, I wouldn't serve wine. A true finn would get the vodka flowing.

1. A bit of both, but I wouldn't say to be feared, but rather just show that you can stand up for yourself and stick to your beliefs. Any respectable person will usually meet like minded people and you can actually form a good friendship, so you can have a happy fulfilling life instead of having a pessimistic attitude and constantly be angry and disrespectful.

2. Shit. I think I just answered this one in number one. Did I fail? Am I allowed to ask questions? I'm so confused now.

3. 5 o' clock pee em. Because you can conduct the meeting over beers and get everyone loose so even if I'm not making sense, I'd still feel more accomplished than the ridiculous crap we discuss at 7:15am, 8:30am, 9am, and 1pm.
