Here in Iowa, we typically get a decent amount of snow each winter and rarely more than one major blizzard of 10-12 inches. So when that monster struck the eastern states last week and dumped 30 inches on you, I laughed and subsequently took my M4 out for a joyride knowing you guys couldn't. Well, it looks like Karma took notice and is granting swift revenge for those I wronged by threatening to dump up to 24 inches on us tomorrow night into Tuesday morning.
So I just want to say I'M SORRY to all of you out east lol.

62F in central IL today. I'm waiting for the bill to come in. I know we're going to pay for that somehow.

Somehow, the weather gods were merciful. Only 5 inches so far and, at most, 6 more expected tonight. Maybe my apology brought upon some forgiveness.

Op today I was on the phone complaining abt american drivers, as usual. I was basically skating (first time for a long time there was a bad driving weather warning issued in Finland) and I was happily sliding down a hill while bitching.
I was in a bad slope, snow on ice and my rental doesn't have the best tires ever made. Long story short, I had a bit of a close call but I handled it like a real man (never told the person I was talking with and peed my pants). The dogs got their walk and I walked back to my car I parked after the rough bit. A man and a kid walked towards me. They were going ice fishing on the lake I had been with the dogs. I was impressed with his driving since that hill almost got me earlier, and I was the one making the tracks. I was even more impressed when I saw he had done what I did in a 4x4 skoda with not a bad tc or awd system in a Lada from the 60's. I told my friend I'd call him back. Turns out I am a pussy and I just met THE man and I didn't even realize it.

That huge east coast blizzard dumped just enough snow here to slightly cover lawns with a thin film of white. The roads weren't even iced up, just wet because the snow instantly melted. Everything shut down for a day.

It was HORRIBLE here yesterday. Went out to Farmer's Market and the wind had to be blowing at least 20MPH. Plus, it was 82 in the middle of winter.

I drove through a mild snow in the Grapevine when me and my GF went to San Francisco for the weekend (wish I stopped though, always wanted to at least touch snow)... Then the very next week after, it was 92°F today.

Yesterday at noon it was 88.
There are these abundance of trees around town, that have bloomed these nice white flowers, which are now falling off, blowing softly on the wind, and landing to cover the ground in a white blanket. Is THAT snow??? And behold, the trumpets have sounded, the end is nigh: Water is falling from the sky again!! I've determined that when the prophet John's visions were translated to English, water was mistakenly replaced with fire. Forgot to mention that over the weekend I was doing some work in the chicken coop, think I sunburned my shoulders/back. Last edited by UncleWede; 02-17-2016 at 04:17 PM.. |

Sunshine is taxed in California, right?
Supposed to be 64F here on Friday. That'll take care of any snow that's left.
