7 Series Welcome Lights not coming on

The door handle lights are not coming on in my new 2013 750LI, I have all the lighting options selected in the iDrive. Anyone know why the welcome lights would not come on?

I think the battery is just low, I put the tender on it. Just picked it up yesterday and they always seem to come with a low batter from the factory.

Congrats on the new ride. When things calm down, check out my post on sail mode. It is mind boggling how useful it is.

Yes, your battery is dying and your dealer is going to pin it on you; that you left your lights on or that you aren't driving enough, no doubt. Good luck and let us know.

Well I've had it for less than 24 hours, I don't think they had a chance to charge the battery at the dealer as I was there when it came off the transporter from the factory. I put my tender on it, I will let you know if that fixed the problem, I think it will

Oh; okay! You should be fine (for now), but in 24 months or so, expect to pay $700 for a new battery when the issues resurface. :|

Well I wouldn't quite expect that to happen, I tend the batteries on all my BMW's, it's not uncommon that I don't drive one for 2 or more weeks. I have 3 in total so I try to split up my time between them. So far, I really, REALLY, love the 7!

Smile

Solved! Battery fully charged. Lights still didn't work. Entered car, pressed the interior light button on headliner a couple times until interior lights came on, started car to make sure lights extinguished when on, they did. Shut off, got out. Handles light up, interior lights up. All is well
