Nice pickup. You need to get the ZR1 out to Buttonwillow after their repaving.

Akrapovic exhaust for ZR1 sounds amazing. Best exhaust out there for the corvettes in my opinion. You getting some Kooks or ARH long tube headers? That is what will really pull things together.

My buddy has a ZL1 with an intake, headers, pulley, cam, tune. Cost lost than $10k for everything installed and he is at 650 rwhp. Just imagine what that ZR1 would be at with the same work done!

Congrats on the new ride, keep us updated with your progress.

Thanks. I'll prob leave it stock. Gets so loud with headers, at least I think. I'm a road course guy and i think any more power could be hard to handle on the track. I never do straight line racing but I'm tempted at the same time to just turn it into some monster although it's already so fast.

I understand, my friend with the ZL1 and I are both road course guys ourselves. Like you said, best spot to start is with some super sticky rubber and clearly you're on top of the sound game with that beautiful exhaust. Enjoy the beast! Looking forward to some videos.

Something like that should not have cost anywhere near $10k, maybe $6k at the most.

But if anything, I'd get a better heat exchanger and do a pulley swap. Plenty of power can be found from a simple pulley swap.

I think installed, everything came to about $8k and thats with a better heat exchanger.

Kook's LTH are $2k by themselves so i don't know where you got $6k from lol.

$2k for headers? Geez.....if someone has money burning a hole in their pocket, I guess its ok to pay whatever. But Kooks headers (ZL1 specific) can be found for $1k not $2k, just saying.....

The full system with x pipe and cats comes pretty close to $2k. I'm sure there are deals you can get out there for slightly less.

Besides, the "corvette tax" makes everything more expensive for a corvette...
Just because.

Enjoy the new ride OP, that Akra exhaust sounds amazing!!!
