ah, the ol "there's something better, so this one can't be good" logic

Not trying to pick on you - but with this logic why would anyone want an M3 or 335 when they can have a 320?

That's not the logic I was using

Someone said the charger was better looking???? That is the ugliest thing I have ever seen, the challenger at least looks like a muscle car. .93 is respectable grip. Interior looks nice for a dodge as well. Variety is the spice of life, I say go for it. American muscle can be intoxicating.

One thing to remember as you contemplate going outside the BMW "box", remember what made you jump inside the box in the first place. Regrets are bitch, but with time and money, you'll get over it.

Value wise, it seems like a solid deal but I have 3 serious problems with it-

1) Interior quality / Looks - I sat in one and in my honest opinion this is absolutely terrible. The entire Garmin dash / screen is almost toy like in my opinion.
2) Handling... I don't expect much from a 700 hp car but I don't want to take a turn while lightly mashing the throttle and going sideways.
3) Massive traction problems at low speeds... M3 may have some, this has extreme.

For just a bit over 60K, I would get a C6 vette or 350R mustang all day long.

I'm just saying, the hellcat is good at something, it just isn't a very well rounded sports car. They put a lot more emphasis on power than other aspects.

Agree on the c6. It may not be as fast but its a much more well rounded car. Gorgeous too.

Screw logic.... the hellcats are all about fun. Very easy to talk yourself out of and LOTS of tradeoffs vs a BMW but the car would be an absolute blast (especially because you don't have to drive it too much). It'll probably hold its value fairly well so it won't be that expensive of an experiment to hoon the shit out of a hellcat for a little bit.

speaking of, next car up for the hellcat motor is the Grand Cherokee trailhawk... should be VERY interesting.

I'd never consider a Dodge even if it has a million horsepower. Done the American muscle thing and over it. As another member discussed earlier, it's not just the power that I'm after, it's the balance between power and all the other things that make a car. Btw it's ugly as hell...

Is it as refined as a BMW? Definitely not. Does it out accelerate anything BMW has to offer? Most definitely so. Really up to you in terms of what you value.

And one thing that "makes a car" for many is practical space. The M3/M4 have incredibly small trunks and rear seats with poor headroom if you actually want to put an adult back there. The Charger and Challenger are BIG cars with comfortable room for 4 adults and their cargo.

What "makes a car" practical depends on where you live.

Try navigating one of these cars through the crowded streets of San Francisco or Manhattan. Good luck parallel parking too.

Some of you guys are such haters lol.

I would get it over the F80 m3, maybe not M4. It has just as much room.. if not more.

Everyone saying its ugly must hate muscle cars in general. That car is BEAUTIFUL. Its the last old school looking muscle car. Everything else has gone soft

I agree that blue is ugly. Id get sublime, red or black, with the half suede half leather seats. You wont find those materials on any ford or chevy. All this car needs are some wider wheels and tires.

Im ready to write the check as soon as I can get one for 50K

with the jb4 tune on a M5/m6 and you are faster than a hellcat.

Stock vs. modded = apples to oranges. What happens when you mod the Hellcat? You can buy and mod a hellcat and it'd still be cheaper than a stock M5/M6.

I wasn't talking about room, if I want room I'll get a bigger bimmer. I was just talking about refinement and the feeling that you get once you get into the car, its handling, it's looks, it's ergonomically correct position etc. cheap Dodge dash is not for me thanks...
