While I do not wish bad luck to any driver, It would be fair / karma if Nico would suffer a mechanical failure for a change.

Going into the last four races dead even / 2 points apart would be epic for the championship race.

Hamilton's other option to win the title is to simply win every race! Only problem is that he is pretty weak in Brazil, but he's very strong everywhere else.

I think it's going to be quite an uphill battle for Hamilton at this point in the season unless something happens to Rosberg that forces him to the back of the grid. I wouldn't be surprised if HAM's reliability problems continue too.

Hope McLaren Honda can put on a good show for Honda's home crowd.

Will Hamilton score enough points to win the title if he wins every race and Niko finishes second from now on?

Yes, its currently a 23 point difference, so 25pts for 1st, and 18pts for 2nd place, 4 races and he'll have a 5pt lead.

Excellent pics, the air intakes on the merc cars does look different - no6 looks bigger

Epic quali laps though, 82cm difference..

Think HAM would do the same thing if he needs to defend his place , and that's what racing is all about...Max actually did nothing wrong .
Tire choise was crucial in Suzuka !
Great job from our MAX with his 6th time on the podium with his second place in a car with less HP than the Mercs
Don't know what's wrong with HAM , but he really s@cks for the moment and his launch off the line as well...

Lewis is really in a hole now. Rosberg has all the momentum, and it's going to take at least a couple failures/crashes for Rosberg to lose this one now with only four races remaining. At least there's still everything to play for this year between the two, unlike last year.

Max did nothing wrong towards the end of the race there as well. No way Lewis was ever making that move work.

Hulkenberg I think do a similar move earlier on in the race on the same corner.

wow, sharp pics!

Hamilton is finished. Unless Nico's car blows up/DNF/no points in one of the remaining races...it's done.

Yeah. Looks that way. Anything can happen in the 4 remaining races, but it looks like its Niko`s year.
Cant understand how is Lewis not able to execute proper start so many times with all the skills he has.
I still think he is the best driver and Niko is close second.

Max is close to "blocking" move instead of defending, since he almost "react" to Hamilton's move instead of picking a line to defend.
IMO its borderline and by definition of "defending" in F1 currently, where you are only allow to make one move to defend. His technique is fine, and exciting!
But he needs to watch out, one day someone will miss the braking and fail of dodging like Hamilton did, and rear end him. If that happens, he can blame all he wants and even FIA penalize the other driver, but losing P2 with a bit over aggressive defending, he will lost out regardless. Its a very fine line but soooo "wow"!

ROS pretty much has the driver's championship in the bag at this point. It would take quite a lot (or a retirement) for ROS to lose it. He also seems to be on a mission to take victory at tracks he's never won (like Suzuka) and the US GP might be next on the list. We'll see if HAM can change his fortunes.

The Mercs are no longer finishing 1-2 comfortably like they used to. Hamilton needs to put together a string of 4, and have Rosberg finish 3rd or lower in 2 of them. All is not lost but he needs to start by winning at COTA.

It's do or die AKA Hammertime !!

Yeah. Maybe Lewis should stop by a drag racing school before he races at COTA.
