I appreciate this comment. I have also looked at a C7 GS. Were you in a base C7?

yes it had the zf1 package.(not z51)..but a gs will only get you better handling and looks
...it wasnt those aspects of the car that I was disappointed with but rather the overall refinement and precision

to put it crudely the c7 felt a bit like driving a truck compared to the cayman

i took a 10 min test drive and didnt pick up the subtleties then but once i took delivery it all came out

Hey now, it's possible. In the same way that a Corbin Sparrow could be more fun than a Chiron.

That is ridiculous. The S2k was a cool car, but if you want something to drive, an old clapped-out car isn't the way I'd do it. How many of these actually exist in solid mechanical form? Sure, there are a decent number around, but because they aren't even making a modern version, it's a dead market IMO. More about nostalgia IMO.

What issues/recalls/defects have popped up regarding the voodoo powertrain? I am strongly considering adding a GT350 to the stable. I would use it as a daily with auto-x mixed in so reliability is a big concern!

No offense, but it's a Honda. Back in those days, Hondas were decidedly not clapped-together cars. Particularly the S2k. Or the NSX, for that matter ... and also keep in mind that they were built until 2009, so there are plenty of examples that aren't even 10 years old ...

I know someone who has one with 160k and it basically looks and runs like new. And I know of several others for which the car has been kept all but bone stock and in top shape. It's not their DD -- which would be the point for the OP, and is the point for many who now own one: It's a weekend fun car. Why does a weekend fun car absolutely need a buttload of HP?

Because it doesn't for many.

Agreed. I almost bought a S2000 instead of my 135i. I will reconsider it when I wear my 1er out and get tired of buying tires for its heavy ass at the track.

When I was looking though, I ended up buying my 09' 135i w/ 71k on the clock Arizona car.....for 12k. I could barely buy a 200k beat to shit S2k for that. lol It's ridiculous the value they keep.

Fantast car, I heard it when they did a local parade and the guy was playing with the revs the whole time... great sound and it looks special too.
