I Love my new R8

Hi,

I've been a BMW enthusiast for quite some time, having owned the 535, e92 335 6MT, M4 6MT, new x6m and the new m2, I think it's time to try something new.

Finally I received my R8 two days ago after some 8 months waiting. The car looks mesmerizing and the way it drives and performs constantly reminds you and makes you ponder why in North America we don't have the highway that the Germany has.

I really hope BMW can produce a similar motor engine like the new r8. Until then I'll be driving my r8 and keep a high expectation for the future of BMW motor sport.

Congrats, I would probably love an R8 too (if I could afford one) over pretty much any BMW

I'm so anal and anxious with how I care for my M4, I can only imagine the heart-attacks that parking and city-driving an R8 would give me. When I move to the burbs, sign me up!

This is the best performance car one can get at this range. Well done sir

IIRC, Turbo S is a bit slower than the R8 V10 Plus and Turbo S is bit more expensive too.

Awesome car and probably one of the last NA V-10's to be built. Maybe last V-10's in any configuration.

Congrats on your new R8.

But I think given the funds... I would rather have a 911. The R8 is a cool machine though. Its just not for me.

A bit off there. Not only is the turbo S cheaper (or can be) it is faster by good margin 10.6@131 vs 10.9@129 and faster to 150 mph by a full second) better handling , and outdoes the R8 in any performance aspect and is more dynamic and fun to drive too. The mclaren is also a better performer than the R8 though I personally never liked the looks of the mclarens no matter how fast they are. Test results below. Turbo S won the comparison.

OP the car is gorgeous. Always love the R8 and the new generation is no exception.
