Looking at Volvo XC60

Hey guys,

We are looking at the new 2018 Volvo XC60 to add to the garage. Anybody have one or have any experience with them? Also, anyone have a link to the options codes and invoice pricing so I can start pricing it out at invoice??

Thanks!!

Have always felt that the previous model was the nicest looking of all the small to mid size SUV. The new model continues that theme. I just have issues with their insane pricing up here which is inline with the Germans.

Looking at one now for the spousal unit, but the new X3 finally seems competitive, may just go with an "M"40i. Also need to drive an "AMG" GLC43, but never been a fan of the taxi brand.

Their new designs and interiors are fantastic, but based on what I've seen reliability wise, and from my test drives in them, I wouldn't buy one.

I've been in the 2017. It was a rough drive, despite my expectations. I guess i am not used to the brand.
Love the interior features. It was very comfortable.

Take a look at the Q7 too. I think you'll like that a bit better.

I just got a 2017 XC90 which is similar (same platform) but slightly larger. It's a great car, takes a little time to get used to the Sensus interface since most of the buttons are gone. 2018 XC60 has the same interface so I would mess around with that before committing.

I almost picked up a CPO X5 50i but the wife didn't like the driver's position and 3rd row was useless. Also looked at the Q7 but wasn't a huge fan of the new body style and 3rd row was too small. XC90 actually drove much better than expected and for me, the interior design was better than the other two, it's just less busy.

Downside for me is the engine sound. It's a twincharged 4 cylinder so decent power but it sounds like a sewing machine. My 2 previous cars that the XC90 replaced were powered by a N54 and VQ35 so the 4 cylinder is taking some getting used to.

I have a 17 V90 Cross Country. Been in the shop for 24 days for a vibration that they can't seem to fix. Might be a lemon. Plus the service department has been awful. I would not buy a Volvo if I could do it over again.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Definitely going to weigh my options now. I am surprised at the mediocre feedback, I thought it would have been a nicer ride.

We had the top of the line previous generation X60 and it was nice, I've driven the new 90 and liked it but reliability would be a major concern for me if the 60 is similar.

We replaced dad's 60 with a Macan and if you can swing it budget wise that's the car to have. Don't need the Turbo stick with the S. That's a really, really special vehicle.
