S60 Polestar?

Has anyone driven / considered one? I was at the Volvo dealership yesterday to drop my mother in laws car off and they had a blue one on the lot that looked really sharp. IIRC the MSRP was about 63k and they had it marked down to 54k.

No, but like the Jaguar XE S and the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport, the first thing you have to ask yourself: Is it a better choice than the S4/340i/C43 trio? I don't know the answer, but that's where I'd start anyway.

Except that's not the car you can buy today. You need to check out the 2017 model for a current review because the motor now has two less cylinders, an additional supercharger, and ~20hp more.

And it looks like they are adding new aero for 2018 for what that is worth. Also worthy of note here is that this car is going into its last year on the market. Soon the next generation will arrive on the same modular matrix as the 90 Series vehicles and the new XC60. No doubt the styling will be very attractive and make the current model look quite dated. Not to mention, the updates in tech and performance will probably be compelling. In theory, a new Polestar model based on the T8 should be able to eclipse 450hp if (really, when IMHO) they decide to offer one.

I enjoyed my S40 T5 a lot until they recalled the engine....I traded ASAP and that was my last Volvo. Isn’t Volvo owned by Geely now?

Reviews said it wasn't as good in performance as a 340/440, but it costs m3 money....

I'd consider the V60, because alternative power wagons are really not available. But not the S60.

Absolutely. Sedans are for losers.

My daily commute usually overlaps with a guy in a white CTS-V manual wagon and a smurf blue V60 Polestar. Both are driven like they're stolen and both make me unreasonably happy.

Love the Polestar, very underrated car IMO. Closer to M3 / M4 performance than people think...

Wifey had one--2015 V60 (62/80) when they had 6cyl.

Having had both an M4 and M3ZCP, it certainly is not on the same level IMO. More like a 335is wagon if BMW had ever made one

my brother has one. I drove it a few times, lots of fun to drive. Exhaust not is better than the M3/4, fast but nothing compared to the M3/4. More room, racks on top, more versatile. The blue color did not do it for me though. The interior is nicer than the M, it has more features than the M, like adaptive cruise control!! I say drive it!!

If you want a cool wagon I'd say go for it, but for the money I'll buy the new Alfa.
