Can you explain the draw for that show, because I apparently missed it. No sarcasm intended.

I know a few coworkers who swear by it that convinced me to watch it. I made it through three episodes and had to turn it off because of how much of a yawnfest it was. Perhaps the bar was set too high??

+1 on the Wire as "best show ever", Breaking Bad #2.

Bloodlines is pretty good on Netflix. Apex - as mentioned above, is a must watch if you're a car guy/gal. Also, any comedy special by Bill Burr.

I'll try the wire again. I got 3/4 the way through the first episode and cut the wire.

Peaky Blinders!!! Love that show

OITNB has jumped the shark...

Bloodline is good but heavy

LOVED Stranger Things!

I'm going to give Shameless a try.

Breaking Bad currently wears the crown of my favorite show ever but I have yet to watch The Wire (couldn't get the wife into it).

I'm on the 4th season of the wire and am forcing myself to get through it. Don't know what all the hype is about.
Breaking bad is my favorite.
Sons of anarchy was awesome.
Lost was entertaining.
Stranger things is good.
Bloodline I wasn't crazy about.

for Netflix,
Narcos - love this series! binge watched last season in like 1.5 days, and basically this past season over the course of a week.
Chef's Table - for those that like gourmet cooking, it's a nicely designed series that gives you a behind the scenes look at Michelin/S.Pellegrino Best restaurants and chefs. Many of them came from humble backgrounds, but they've all interned or cooked from the same small group of world class chefs. The ego's are insane too....

Amazon Prime,
Can't wait for Grand Tour to start, although I've never been able to find anything that hooks me on their selection yet. Will have to give some of the suggestions a try.

if you're a nerd, Star Trek TOS in its entirety is on Netflix, with remastered special effects and soundtrack. Unfortunetly, Battlestar Galactica (2000's) is gone.

Amazon Prime is finally available in Canada, tried the free subscription and could't get it to work. I kept getting error message saying my Silverlight was an out of date version(mac user), I tried to update several times and then did an uniinstall and installed up to date version. Same error message. I'm pissed.

If you are using Safari, check under settings > security > plugins that the plugin isn't disabled there. I had that issue with Silverlight, some time ago I had asked Safari to disable it.

Bosch on Amazon is killer. Titus Welliver pulls off Harry Bosch so damn well. I dig the L.A. Noir style of the show and the fact that it doesn't overemphasize the "noir-ness" to the point of annoying.

Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Didn't think I'd like Jessica Jones, skipped it, and watched Luke Cage instead. Now I've gone back to Jessica Jones because Luke Cage was excellent and I wanted the background as told by the Jessica Jones series. I love it, too.

Bloodline had a killer first season. 2 isn't as good, but still very watchable.

Chance from Hulu still need to start.

The Grand Tour I slept on so I can binge it. Starting that very soon.

House of Cards I still enjoy.

Narcos is awesome.

Me weigh in on The Wire vs. Breaking Bad. Definitely The Wire > Breaking Bad. The Wire is a lot more entertaining when you understand the background. The fact that the city of Baltimore and the Baltimore Sun allowed them to portray the city and the media as it was and cooperated in ALL of the filming (all shot in Baltimore) is amazing. How the plot of each season approaches the same subjects from different angles: Societal (series setup), The Ports, The Police, The School System, The Local Government, and The Media while continually developing the characters from the very first season while introducing new ones and showing how they all tie in together was all done so masterfully. Everything from the very first season, even subtleties, are extremely relevant all the way to the final season. The character actor selections were phenomenal for every part. It is slow to start, but by Episode 5 of Season 1, you can't stop watching.

Man in the High Castle (Prime)
House of Cards (Netflix)
Ray Dononvan (Prime w/ Showtime subscription)

I'd be lying if I didn't say I still watched Supernatural on Netflix... I like the self deprecating humor and sarcasm on the show.

I also need to pick back up on Sons of Anarchy. I like the show when it was running, but only from the ad hoc watching I did of re-runs. I started watching it from the beginning a while back but life happens.

Gonna start watching The Grand Tour soon. Seemed like something that required binge watching.

Re: The Wire, it was a slow start to Season 1 so give more than 3 episodes. I actually think I fell asleep through a lot of episodes 1-4 and didn't think I missed much. It picked up after that. On a whole, it was a well put together show but I don't think it is as great as people make it out to be. I still am a fan of Justified and would go: Justified > The Wire > Breaking Bad.
