new combo tool kit

so my 12v cordless bit the dust.

I did'nt wanna spend too much, so I found a nice Makita combo kit
drill and impact, good price about 250'ish, got it home from homedepot.
had been used, no, plastic on the tools and missing a battery.

So go back to HD, pick another one, and check it before I leave the store, same thing again, this time no instructions. So I just ask for my money back.

They only had 3 units, I get pissed when you pay good money and basically get re-cycled stuff or demo stuff just boxed up...

So went to Lowes and got a Bosh combo.. just under 200 bucks

AHH factory sealed box and that lovely plastic smell

not bad, drill, impact, case & charger - 18v

Back in 1996 i went to HD and bought a Dewalt hard case 18v kit which came with a 2 speed hammer drill, a 7" circular trim saw, a saws-all, a snake light, two 18v batteries and a charger with the battery refresh mode. I paid $500 and i still use every one of those tools today. I've gone through 4 sets of batteries, but the tools still rock and roll without a single bit of maintenance.

LOVE those tools. The Dewalt tools available now don't feel nearly as sturdy as these do. Maybe they're just heavier, but they keep on working.

Will the impact function loosen a lug bolt tightened to 105 foot pounds ?

Have an early 2000's 12V. I paid more for the replacement XL battery as opposed to buying a new Dewalt drill kit for like $20 less.
