Then I'd stick pump. First, just the sound of racking it is generally enough to end the discussion. If not, the 590A1 will fire each pump if you hold the trigger. About the same speed as an auto because you need a moment to recover from each shot anyway. One i have is also USMC issue like the benneli m4.

That's exactly where I'm at. I'm just waiting on my purchase permit and I'm picking up a 45 cal Springfield XDs along with one of the shotguns I'm considering. NJ forbids hollow points outside of the home so I'm going to carry a 45 instead of a 9mm like the HK P30 I keep bedside.

True. My carry is my sig p229 .40 with 13 hollowtips, 1911 colt with 8 round clip hollowtips, or ruger lcp .380 with 7 hollowtips. Depends on my mood and what I'm wearing. Backup for shotgun with 9 manstopper low recoil 00 buck is ar15 with 15 penetrators and 15 hollowtips or ak47 with 30 fmj. In any case, its a bad day for my opponents. These don't play well on liberal states but to bad for them.

I have a KSG with 7 00 buck and 7 rifled slugs myself. Depending on the surroundings and threat I can choose quickly with the flick of my thumb before chambering.

My XDs 45 and Glock 19 are usually in the night stand as well (those are my 2 main carry weapons)

Wait, what? Hollow points are much safer for everyone that is not being shot... how can that be a law? That boggles my mind.

For the XDs, look for 6 round mags... they are easily the most comfortable ones! The 5 and 7 that come with it just both miss the mark for me.

Nice!
I'm a newbie to firearms. My P30 is my first gun so I'm just starting a collection!

I was looking at the Glock 36 (single-stack 45) but the XDs is notably slimmer and just feels better in my hand. Now Springfield will even throw in a holster and 4 extra magazines so...

I agree but remember in NJ its democrats who make the laws. They don't understand guns.

Yeah but its an outside the waistband holster. Useless without a coat or long shirt. Prints more too.

That looks similar to the setup I used to have. I ended up moving to a safe for fire rating and slightly more protection though.
That's a concern I had. We are planning to add on to the house next year and I'm trying to convince her to let me put a safe in there. I will need a huge one though

AR optics opinions

If you had one do it all AR what optic or optics would you get. Not brand but magnification/type. Main purpose HD and range fun 100-200 yards.

Right now I have BUIS, red dot and scope 3x-8x.

I tried my friend's 3x fixed prism optic and it was really really nice on a 100 yard range. Clear big sight picture, fast enough with more precision, compact package. Still not as fast as red dot at close range. I'm tempted to add but feel like there is overlap with what I have.

Then there are the 1x-4x scopes that sound like a doable all in one for what I want. Here I'm not sure if it is as fast as a red dot at 1x and not sure if I'd be happy with only 4x on the long end.

From your ownership or usage experience what do you guys like/recommend?

If you want to shoot minute of man rds at those ranges is all you need. 50 yard zero will give you +/- 2 inches of elevation zero to 250 yards, hold it dead center and done deal.

They had me at 4 magazines. Actually- Before that. I decided on the XDs before I learned of the promo.

I hear the quality and recoil is superior in the M4, but is it worth less capacity and traditional grip?
Im in NJ and i have that Benelli M4 pictured. Sure no pistol grip, but5+1+1 capacity
The best shot gun hands down Buy the pistol grip & extension tube when you move out of this State........
If you need more capacity, mount a side saddle for an extra 6 shells.
Nothing comes close to the M4. The speed of witch it fires those 7 shells is breath taking. The quality and its heavy duty is second to none.

I assume you meant red dot? I know it's sufficient for range with a 50 yard zero.

My problem is eye sight - I prefer some magnification when reaching out.

I run a vortex strike eagle on one of the ar's. for the money it's pretty decent. I still prefer a red dot though

Yes rds is red dot sight. You don't have to be abe to see a guys button on his shirt at 250 yards to be able to hold the rds on his center of mass. This is the difference between a square range paper punching mentality and being able to use the gun for intended purpose. It's something I initially struggled with also. I built a precision ar as well for shooting paper.

I keep my guns covered cause they'll scare away all the little boys and girls...sometimes, my guns swell up and grow, and start throbbing, as if they're about to explode. all the bitches love making sweet sweet love to them
