Owner's Manual

Silly question, but where does everyone store their Owner's Manuals? I've placed mine in the glove compartment in front of the passenger seat, but have noticed that two indentions in the leather binder occur because the compartment is a little too small...

Welcome to the club... I have found on all the different BMW cars I have (had) that the glove compartment is ALWAYS to small for the leather binder they supply you with for the owner's manual. It either makes it really hard (or impossible) to close the glove box and if you do manage to get it crammed in there, it usually get's deformed by the latch...

It surprises me that in all these years they STILL have NOT caught on to this and figured out a different size for the owner's manual or adjusted the size of the glove compartment to make those binders fit...

Well at least in the F01 and newer cars they FINALLY put the owner's manual on the iDrive system
Next step should be to have a text to speech function so you don't have to read the manual

Thanks xDrive. I've noticed that there's also space to the right of the trunk - under the lid - that just barely fits it; you have to angle and contort it just a bit to get it in. I'll have to give it another try, but I'll have to keep registration and insurance paperwork separate - more accessible within the cabin.

Otherwise, yes, I don't know what it is with German autos, but, all too familiar... it's absolutely impossible to fit the manual of my 1994 S500 in its glove compartment; so, it too goes in the trunk (although, the current S has a tremendous amount of interior cabin storage space!)
