Post Differences in the 300kW and 330kW N63 engine.

Hello,

Hopefully this is the right place as I do not see an F04 section.
I am looking into a new N63 engine. In the documents for my car it says that my engine is an N63B44A engine.
Looking online I see these as the 300kW, but mine is the 330kW. Is this just another tune? Will it have anything to say if I buy a 300kW engine? I am guessing they are the same?

- Thanks for the input!

The early ones had quite a few issues as well. You'll find threads about it in the 6 series section and possibly the F10 5 series section as well.

biggest difference should be Valvetronic on those 2 different engines.. different cylinder head and VANOS difference is for Valvetronic in the end.. no diverter valves as well as Valvetronic doesnt need it..

But from what I can see the N63b44a engine is 300kW and the N63b44b is 330kW. My car has a 330kW engine, but it says that my engine code is N63b44a.
What am I missing here?

How do you know your car has a 330kW engine if your documents say 300kW?

Could be a mistake on the website?

Arrow N63 Customer Care Package, bulletin B001314...

You might want to contact your BMW dealer to see IF your car qualifies for any of the engine recalls the N63 has had. The big recall was/is the N63 Customer Care Package, bulletin B001314. MightyMouseTech might also be of some help... ?

Why are you replacing the engine?

From what I have understood all the Active Hybrid 7 are 330kw engine? All the VIN decoders and the Export certificate says it.
Export certificate says: N63B44A-K210.

I think that only is valid in the states. I am from Scandinavia.
The car has rod knock. Pulled the pan its full of nasty bits and pieces.
