First service, filter?

At what mileage do I send in my car for first service? I have done about 7200kms and the warning message displayed telling me I have to send it in for next oil change in the next 1000kms. I spoke with my salesman and he said to ignore it and to send it in when it touches 12000kms.
Also I thought of swapping to the K&N air filter when doing the service, have any of you'll done this? I'm sure the K&N filter is better than the paper filter.

Based on the information in your post I'd be taking it in just before 8200 Kms. The condition based servicing monitors a number of components and determines a replacement schedule based on patterns of use and atmospheric conditions. It's telling you 1000 Kms for a reason!

Thanks. I will give the service manager tomorrow to see what he says. What i personally feel is that they just want mu business as servicing is not free.

Why do you think that when he is trying to postpone your visit?

Hi Samlambo. Send it in. You don't want to void your warranty. I wouldn't replace the filter with K&N. The originals, although cheap looking, are good. OEMs may change the sound of your intake a little but they would really not be any better for your car.

Used to own an F02 750 some time ago, sold it, but will be registering a new almost exact same car tomorrow.

OT abit; maybe we should organise a GTG for Singapore 7 series owners some day
