Well here is the data. Data that corporations rely on when developing "go to market strategy."

The last one is laughable at first glance.

Your login is the same as you BMW Assist (if your C.A. set it up). Sames goes to the BMW Remote and iRemote.

It has recently been rolled out in the UK. You need to go here..

https://www.bmw-connecteddrive.co.uk...n?locale=en_UK

Create a new account if you have not already got one by using your email address. Fill in all the details:

Including if I remember correctly:

- UK car registration number.
- VIN number.

Keep the site open on your PC or Laptop!

Then a code (5 digits if I remember correctly) will be sent to the car as a message. You then have to put that into the site. This then completes the authentication process.

You will then see Service Status for your vehicle in two columns...

Booked Services

and

Services that can be booked (to be paid for).

See...

I use android phone. Samsung 5 on Vodafone...

If you have already got the apps. My BMW Remote, and, BMW Connected may need to have passwords reset.

This I knew. But the first time I went online to the portal, it asked for a new, more secure (numbers special characters bla bla) password. When I tried, it didn't accept any such formatting. After a call, they suggested ignoring those constraints. It worked.

There isn't anything on the portal I need enough to make spending the time I spent to get there worth it.

Thanks Murph. Great article which backs up the claim I made above. This line from the article (backed by data) nails my position perfectly:

"iPhone people are a notch up the socio-economic scale: higher income, higher education, higher representation in professional and managerial jobs."

Sounds identical to BMW's "bread-and-butter" demographic to me. 'Nuff said.

Seriously. Over 70% of the world uses android devices yet Bmw continues to cater way too much to ios users. Let's hope they see the light soon. They obviously have the resources to cater to both.
Cater to iOS users?

For the past 8 years, you can't display your mail from an iOS device without restarting your app.

We didn't get one here in the US until this announcement. A fact that always confused me. Having to press the SOS button or go through a dealer for anything ConnectedDrive related was always a pain in the ass, IMO.
