Just received my 2017 BMW 750IX

I recently just traded my 14' 750LIX, which had every option available within the M SPORT OPTIONS, BACK IN 14' IT WAS 125k.

What I realized, as I am always the driver. I had all the options in the backseat, I spent more time explaining how to work them then driving.

This round, I optioned this car with everything I could reach. Here is the List:

750IX
Black Sapphire Metallica
Black Nappa Leather
Fine Black Wood Trim

AutoBahn Package
Cold Weather Package
Driver Assistance Plus & II
Executive Package
M Sport Package
20'' Bi Color Wheels
Alcantara Healiner
Ambient Air Package
Panoramic Sky Lounge LED Roof (This is really cool)
B&W Diamond Surround System (The B&O slammed much harder, however B&W is clear just not loud, I miss my old stereo, not impressed)
Night Vision (I live in northern Wisconsin, Deer everywhere)
Display Key (Pretty Cool)

Aftermarket:

Tint on all windows, windshield is 50%, Sides are 35%

Black wrap on the small piece of chrome on the trunk lid

Since I have night vision, BMW does not make the black kidney grill. So I had it wrapped Black

Any feedback from others:

Opinion on the B&W vs. B&O?

One thing I found with just having the standard seats in the back seat over the reclining/massaging. They are more comfortable, any comments?

If you ordered a NEW 7 would you have option in the back seat or not?

Looking slick, especially with the black wrap on the kidney grills and the trunk lid!

I also did not do the RSE or rear seating options. I did go with active steering and I am really happy about that. And night vision (lots of deer on the east end of Long Island). I hope you enjoy yours as mnuch as I am enjoying mine.

That's a super uber cool car , I prefer chrome trim but I must say dark trim is always looking sleeker and cooler

Beautiful car, I too am opting out of any rear seat options and focusing on the driver (ME!)

Can you please advise how you wrapped the back strip, was it hard at all? I have a friend that can help me do the front grilles and back lip, but curious how to go about it and what to buy that matches the shadowline trim on the Msport models.

Nice. Optioned my 7 similarly. Will let you know about the audio since I have had the B&O in both my X5M and my M6 as well as old Alpina B7

Solo1818,
I actually took it to a shop that specializes in wraps locally, they charged me $275... Even up close you can't tell its a wrap, quality looks great.

Noushy,
Yes, let me know your opinions of the B&W. I found out as your turn the music up listening to music with bass, there is an override once you get about 70% of the volume the bass minimizes. This wasn't the case with the B&O, it just would slam harder. As I am speaking my car is at a local car audio shop, they are putting an extra AMP in just for the subwoofers under the seat so we can tune it how we would like.

Hope that works.... Otherwise a waste of cash... LOL

M5 Monster,
Thank You very much! I am also glad how it turned out.....

I have B&W and feel it is good but not great. I do like the visual (light and contrast). It is a sizable step up from the standard HK sound to me. I didn't experience B&O and comparing the two is kind of a moot point given B&O is not an option unless you are going aftermarket.

If I were to make the decision again I would still opt for B&W over the stock sound.

And as for the Panoramic Sky Lounge LED Roof, I found it cool for the backseat passengers but it is not something that the driver or front passenger would notice much. I know I don't.

You need to plastidip the wheels a darker or something.

Look here.
Google: plastidip wheels, then shopping because the wheels do not match the color of the car at all.

Might as well blackout the calipers too if you want everything done right.

I love the black strip in the trunk, I got mine done as soon as I got the car. Got mine wrapped for $50 from a friend who works at Impressive Wraps. Didn't know there was a black chrome replacement part.

For subwoofer upgrades, this is the best option:

Speedracerlo,

So I found Bavsound, and I spoke with them over the phone. He couldn't guarantee me that his subwoofers would work in the G11. I see you have a 2017 740, do you have them in your car?

Plastidip the wheels? Dafuk? It's a BMW, not a redneck pickup truck. Get them powder-coated gloss black if you are going to change the color.

I've ordered my 2018 750i pretty much along the lines of the package you have and my car should be arriving shortly here in tennessee! I saw your trim is fineline black wood trim. How does that match with the interior color and do you like it? Can you post some pics of the trim here or you may send pics to kjshank@hotmail.com. Appreciate it! Enjoy your new car!!

Did you get the front windshield tinted? does it effect the HUD display? As it projects from the dash to a screen in the windshield?

I want to get the sides and rear windshield tinted..

I have a tinted front window and HUD, and I haven't had any issues with my HUD visibility, day or night.

Issues with window tint fluid into doors

I have a 2018 750xi on order. I want to get the windows tinted, but am concerned with all the slip fluid they use to tint the windows going into the inside door trim and on the leather. Anyone ever have issues with this?

I have read several owners not pleased with the Bowers system especially considering the cost.

It kinda depends on where you do it. Usually they would place a towel which would prevent the fluid from slipping and touching the leather.
