760li Update Today -- Product Planning & Strategy Bulletin

Product Planning & Strategy Bulletin
Model Year 2010 7 Series
July, 2009

The all-new 7 Series launched on March 6, 2009 and the vehicle has been received with tremendous
success. To build upon this momentum we are pleased to announce that for Model Year 2010 the
760Li will be added to the 7 Series lineup as well as xDrive, intelligent all-wheel drive. All Model Year
2010 7 Series will begin production in September 2009.
The new BMW 760Li Sedan is taking over the top position in our model portfolio, delivering the highest
level of driving refinement in its segment. Powered by a twin-turbo charged 6.0 liter all aluminum V12
engine with 535 horsepower that delivers 550 lb-ft, the 760Li is the fastest BMW with a 0-60 time of 4.5
seconds.
This is the first time that xDrive will be available on the 7 Series, and expands our product offering so
that xDrive is now available on every BMW sedan. The 750i xDrive and 750Li xDrive will be powered by
the same twin-turbo charged V8 engine as the RWD models. The initial 0-60 times are 5.0 seconds for
the 750i xDrive and 5.1 seconds for the 750Li xDrive – that’s 1/10 of a second faster than the RWD
models proving that xDrive not only adds the safety benefit of all-wheel drive but also enhances the
performance of the vehicle for a truly exhilarating driving experience.

750i xDrive & 750Li xDrive
The xDrive models will have the same standard and optional equipment profile as the RWD, with the
exception that xDrive and Active Roll Stabilization are standard on the xDrive 7 Series.
BMW’s acclaimed xDrive all-wheel drive system has been enhanced for these new models to ensure
that the 750i xDrive and 750Li xDrive set a new benchmark for handling characteristics among all-wheel
drive sedans. BMW’s Integrated Chassis Management, using the remarkable speed of the FlexRay on

board network, is able to identify and limit understeer by shifting torque rearward (up to 80% to the rear
axle) while preserving the stability for which xDrive has been recognized.
As a second step, the Integrated Chassis Management system can then apply a precise combination of
throttle and individual rear-corner braking in order to maintain perfectly neutral handling in a corner,
regardless of road surface conditions.
These key enhancements to xDrive result in the most nimble all-wheel drive sedan

All the options not currently available on the 750i/iL in the US will probably be available for the 760. I wonder what the price will be.
