I'm aware of that. It can be tricky to keep LiIon batteries cool. That post was more so in the spirit of being facetious.

If it's to be competitive, it should not be more than $130k loaded. And apparently the production of the NSX starts soon, in the US?

150K is very competitive for a car that is built from scratch including most of its parts, unlike 911, R8, AMG GT, R8, i8.

What you get with the NSX is 918 Spyder/P1 at an affordable price.

You can tell it is production ready with the DOT orange reflector already designed into the headlight.

Not a fan. For $150K, I'm getting something else. GT3/RS or a new GT.

I have a feeling this will be a better car than either of those for the money. Plus the GT will be more than $150k. I thought I saw somewhere that it will be more than $175k.

It's like the i8 but with the performance the i8 should've had!! Looks brilliant and it sounds like they've thrown everything in there in terms of tech and performance! Today has been a fantastic day for car fans everywhere

It looks good but far from original.
150k is a lot of $$$$$ and there are a ton of options available from other brands.

Have to compare to new R8. What do you get with new R8? Same old V10, no manual, understeer.

The only alternatives to the NSX are the 458 replacement or Corvette Z06, 911 GT3 / RS if you want, but not special and exclusive enough for the price you pay.

150k is not a lot of money for a high end sports car today (for some). You can get a loaded 911T for close to that.

What's to remember? As of right now, it's nothing more than a flashy concept.

The 458 is almost $100k more, the Z06 will likely walk circles around this thing for roughly half the price, and the GT3 RS is at the top of its class in nearly every metric. This thing is going to be exclusive, but only because you'd need to bre pretty uninformed or really love Acura/Honda to buy it. It's the same reason the later models of the last NSX are so rare... because they were completely obsolete.

Sorry if I confused you, I didn't say $150k is a lot of money, I just said that I'd choose something different for the money. No doubt this will be a great car, but I'd prefer a GT3/RS.

A "standard" 911S can be optioned up to $150K for sure. P-cars are insane with the amount of options you can put on them.

In the end, I'd probably save up and get Ford GT. I'm not a fan of the styling of the NSX. It looks too much like an R8 as others have pointed out and the front end is ugly.

You don't win a comparison tests because your parts are bespoke, you win them because the sum of those parts performs better than that of the competition. If you lose every comparo, nobody is going to care that the parts are unique to that model.

In what ways is this similar to those cars, exactly?

I think the car is absolutely stunning. AWD, instant throttle response, this thing is a legitimate mini-918. Not to mention the car will cost about 1/6 the price of the 918.

Seriously, who the fuck would buy an i8 over this? This thing makes the i8 look like a Prius.

I agee IF Acura has manged to show up with more than 2/3 performance of the hybrid hyper cars (918/P1/LaFerrari) at that price, then that is a win to me.....not to mention you could probably get it serviced if needed....dont have to have an engineer fly to your home...though if your bank account can support such a vehicle I'm sure thats not a problem but I digress
