+1. Lots of torque is great but the S2000 feels like is one with my body. Like getting into a glove and driving. Does the 135 feel this way? I only driven it for a test drive. It felt very connected to the road. Very responsive on turns. Is it going to feel like a glove? In a different way maybe. :smile:

I currently have a S2000, and man nothing beats driving it or top down. Though when I get my 135i I will keep both cars, so I'll have the best of both worlds!

To me, it's a different ball game. In the s2k, I felt squished and the passengers would be squished. There's not much room to work and the rattles drive me crazy. It's an excellent and pure car. But personally, I would opt for a car you don't have to push for power, more interior space so I can put my seat back a bit and rest my arms on something, go snowboarding with it, and more then those 2 shitty speakers.

I don't think you'll get the same precision as the s2k, but I can't speak for a lowered 135 with sway bars. S2k is surely a fun car, and I think you'll find what you will lack in the go-cart feel as a benefit.

Def trade in the S2K for a 135i, its a little more practical and you will appreciate the torque. Im not saying that the S2K isnt a great car (my dad used to own one), but I need the torque in my life.

The S2000 is a fantastic drivers car. An extremely engaging package. The shifter/clutch feel is sublime. Handling is excellent. And that engine rocks. Plus I absolutely love the style of the cockpit. :w00t:

If I had the spare cash I would have one.

best way to describe the s2k mini-indy.....i thought the car was freakin awsome when my friend took me for a ride in it to show me what it could do..i think its inbetween a go cart and a indy car lol

For a daily driver especially in traffic, the 135 hands down...torque is nice.

But man...if I lived in NC...a few hrs away from some outstanding mountain roads like the Dragon, I don't think I could ever get rid of my s2k.

As far as my 2 cents, if you're looking to get a 135 as just a more luxurious version of your s2k w/o giving up any driveability, you're going to be disappointed. I've driven a friends s2k extensively and I think, especially on short jaunts, the s2k wins in the "fun to drive" category. As many have alluded to, the snickety-snick shifter in the S is the best one I have ever felt (though I have no P-car experience, mind you) , the high-revving engine is gobs of fun and the car just begs you to throw it around curves. It's quite a driver's experience, and the only car that compares to the S in fun factor that I have ever driven is a Lotus Elise.

I considered purchasing an s2k when I was shopping for a car, but I wanted something that was a bit more livable day to day with a bit more practicality. I knew I was sacrificing some of the fun factor when doing so - but not much. The 1 has loads of torque down low, and I love it. It roars to life at any gear, and is a blast to drive as well, but just be aware that it doesn't feel quite as raw as an S2k. If you're looking to keep that screaming engine and go-carty feel, and you don't care about adding some more practical features or a tad smoother ride, keep your S.

I'd suggest an extensive test drive if you're having that much trouble deciding. It should tell you a lot of what you need to know - but make sure you test a 1 w/manual tranny and no active steering.

Jeff, I have a few friends with that Si, and it's a fantastic car to drive. (People always give me strange looks when I suggest a test drive of it, thinking it's a "civic", but after they come back, they understand). Great in the fun factor department and it'll put a smile on your face when you blast around in it.

...But an s2k will make you want to smoke a cigarette after you get outta it, especially if you get a chance to throw it around some twisties.:biggrin:

I remember after driving on the blue ridge parkway and taking a ridiculously twisty road down to Waynesville we had to stop at the bottom and get out of the car to catch our breath.

The S2000 is made for the Blue Ridge Parkway. Awesome twisties and the sound of VTEC music under the tunnels. Life is so good up at the mountains. The smile stays on your face hours after you drive back to civilization.
