Active lane change upgrade not working

I received a notification, like many others, indicating that my 2023 760 vehicle was eligible for the active lane change upgrade. Excited, I visited a BMW dealership and patiently waited for three hours while they purportedly installed the upgrade. However, upon testing it on the highway, I found that the feature wasn't functional. Consulting online tutorials revealed that the functionality requires the car's built-in navigation and an active Assist Drive Plus feature. Despite ensuring both were active, the option didn't appear in the Drive Assist menu of the iDrive system. Upon contacting BMW, I was informed that the dealership might have failed to install the necessary retrofit. Has anyone else encountered a similar issue?

You also need to check settings to ensure that “active lane change” is enabled.

This “active lane change” option will not be visible in any settings.

That's bizarre. I have a 2024 G70 (the i7) which also came with Active Lane Change. I've used it a number of times -- it works perfectly fine -- but I don't see an on/off setting under the Driver Settings/Assisted Driving menu. Perhaps I could turn it off (or on) by orally telling my car ("Mikey") to do so when I drive; otherwise, I don't see how to do it manually. Uh, you're not a Photoshop expert there are ya Ice...?

Mine seems to only work when I’m set my destination through the car navigation and only when it suggests a lane change. It’ll ding when it’s time, the you just look at the mirror and it aggressively changes lanes. More so than even hitting the stalk I think. Not sure it’ll work without nav or the prompt. Maybe try that?

Thank you very much! This is exactly what I was searching for. While I have the other two options in the menu, the active lane change feature is absent. After consulting with a BMW Genuis, I discovered that the dealership I visited only upgraded the software and failed to install the necessary retrofit.

Mines look exactly like the picture ICE showed but without the Active lane change, Also when i spoke to BMW genuis on phone they said that it should be visible and you should be able to turn it on and off which makes sense for me.

You might want to give that a try.

My i7 was also updated to this software version and the dealer paperwork says active lane change update. But, I don't see a setting to turn it on or off.

Isn't driver assistance professional the only way to get active lane change? The regular system only has ACC not lane guidance/highway assistant.

Confoundedly (at least for me), at 1:03 into the below video, "Hands-Free Highway Driving and the Driving Assistance Professional Package on the 2024 7 Series," it DOES corroboratively show the Active Lane Change as Ice4Life depicts above. As I said, while I DO have the feature and it works perfectly fine, I don't have that visual of it in the menu or the ability to turn it on or off. So weird, huh?
