Dear GM,

I beg you to have a proper e-brake handle available for 2017. I will even cut down from 6 coffee shop visits a week to 3 coffee visits a week.

This just seems like the perfect recipe. Kudos to GM for taking the best bits from the Z06 and putting them on a Z51. The new GS looks amazing. When are we going to stop hearing about the C6Z06 and comparing every Vette after to it. I get it...it was/is a great performing car. But that interior was awful back when it was new and even worse now. I wouldn't drive one if it had 1000hp.

I am interested in a Corvette but I also have two kids. I discovered that the Corvette owner's manual discussed how you can mount 1 forward facing car seat on the passenger side.

Could a Corvette replace a minivan?...of course not but for multi-car families where the other car has 4 doors then the Corvette might be a good car that allows you to occasionally drive 1 child to a doctor appointment or take them to some sort of after school event. Google it

I tried that... didn't work well for me. Hopefully it does for you because the C7 is a great sports car.

While the C6 Z06 was amazing power wise, the LS7 was plagued with exhaust valve/guide and head issues.

My C6 Z06 bailed on me at 11k miles. Ended up lemon lawing it.

GM has amazing technology and power, but their long term reliability is terrible.

They also tend to use cheap components that just barely passes.

That is where their achile heels is at, awesome performance and great on the surface, but when pushed hard, give up the ghost quickly.

I love all Z06s and have had 5 of them of various years, but have lemon lawed two of them and had issues of some sort with all of them.

All of them had brake rotor warping issues, clutch pedal sticking to the floor issues, electrical issues, traction control/active handling faults, and one grenaded motor.

Yes, the valve issue is a problem, but not as bad as the internet makes it seem. Unfortunately, you were one of the victims.

Z51 power is not needed for the street either LMAO

The C6 GS didn't get a power bump either. And towards the end of the C6 life cycle, you could a ZR1 and Z06 with identical packages. The only thing separating them were the engines. Just like is the case with this vs the C7 Z.

I would have loved a larger capacity 500+ hp NA V8 as much as the next guy, but this car is indeed intended to more or less take the place of the old Z06 when equipped with the Z07 Pkg. After all, there isn't going to be an additional model to slot between this and the new Z06.
Except there is no need for the C7 GS because you could already get a C7Z in auto trans & as targa or vert. C6Z was manual & hardtop only. No doubt people will buy the C7 GS, but it's stupid IMO. GM should do something new.

Just to try something different. Life is too short to have the same car experience for too long. Lots of fun... and different... options to try.

problem I am having is finding something I think I will like, with my particular requirements

NA, manual tranny, compact, non turbo, good low end torque

not too many options out there, tried the c7 already, not my cup of tea

Same here which is why I don't think I will find anything I like enough to sell my C6Z for. Well, anything I can afford.

Have you owned a 700hp car? The power isn't useable on the street. The base corvette has ideal power to weight. It's plenty for the street and that's all I was trying to say.

Hmm... tons of kit for $66k, maybe the best version of the Vette

"The Grand Sport, for those not in the know, is a Corvette with essentially all of the Z06 model’s suspension, braking, body, and tire upgrades, but with the regular Stingray’s naturally aspirated, 460-hp 6.2-liter V-8. Chevrolet claims that on its standard Michelin tires, the Grand Sport can pull over 1.0 g on a skidpad, while the optional Z07 package’s stickier rubber could strain your soft bits with 1.2 g. "

Would you rather have this than the C6 Z06? What about C6 ZR1?

I would go with the Grand Sport... the Z51 as is pretty close to the performance of the last gen cars, but has a better interior and I am sure the Grand Sport will probably be faster than both on tight tracks.. how raw it will be will be a the big question, obviously it won't have the straight line speed of the ZR1 but the Z06.. night night

Hmm, thanks for the opinion. Man, I had my heart set on a '12 C6 Z06...surprised C6s hasn't depreciated as fast as I'd hope.
