I'm modding this E90 until a GT-R goes under 50k. The GT-R/Skyline has been my dream car since Gran Turismo on Playstation. Worst case is I'll keep saving, wait until the R34 is classic status, then bring one over.

Bayside Blue
GT-R
Junction Produce Wheels

Yummmmmmm.

Oh, and a BIG Fuggin turbo, lol.

Not necessarily under $50k as listed, but I'm sure you can negotiate to somewhere around $50k.

Current Plans by the end of the year are:

Option 1
Keep E90 and buy a 09-11 911 cabriolet
Keep E90 and buy/lease a 16-17 Mustang GT Convert

Option 2
Sell/Trade E90 and buy either:
'17 C450 amg
'17 Audi S4

Aside from a maybe if great lease deal came along on an M3, nothing else in the current BMW line-up would even make a top 10 list

After seeing a tune only 2013 C63 and a super charged Chevy SS race the 1/4 at the same trap and ET, my choice is now the 2012-2015 C63 for my next car. Both cars are in the same price range of $40k, so why bother spend another $8k to get the same results.

Option 1 all the way. The C450 isn't really an AMG... It's comparable to the 340i Msport or M340i or whatever it's called. S4 as well.

I have an M235i, it's not a real M car either. Why?

1. No LSD
2. No vehicle-specific drivetrain
3. No exterior flares, differentiation

Had real M car before. Different. Real AMG too, different.

IIRC, you should stay away from '11 and older... Stick with '12 and newer.

The GTR is on my list as well. What's wrong with pre-11s? I heard the trans and clutches grenade but they were all replaced?

It would have to be either like me trading it in for a 6speed f10 m5 or a 2016 s7 with black package. Other wise I'm keeping it till I can afford to buy one of those 2 as a daily and run the m3 as a pure track car.

I too believe that once you've had an M, it's hard to go anywhere else, but I did. Family car is an LX570, simply an incredible vehicle, also added a 991 C4S to the stable. The 991 is loaded with tech and the seats are so comfortable. Weird observation, the 991 feels so light when driving, a totally different experience when compared to the M3. Now that I've had the opportunity to compare the 991 to the M3, the M3 feels more like a muscle car to me, but one that can actually drive through the twisties in a planted manner!

Hard to say. Depends on the price range and cars available at the time. I will say this, anyone that does a direct sale (like Tesla) will have a leg up with me. I love cars but hate car shopping. The dealership model needs to expire. The M2 price gouge craze is just another reason.

I went from this:

to this:

And it was a huge improvement in driving dynamics and enjoyment on and off the track. The only thing I miss from my M3 is the S65, aesthetics, and creature comforts.

I also went from an X5M to an Audi Q7 and that was a huge step in the wrong direction. I think BMW makes awesome road cars that are fun to drive and still carry 4+ people. But if you are looking for better driving experiences, there are lots of options out there if you don't need back seats.

Mazda 6 for a DD
A used 911, if I can swing the maintenance costs for fun
Lexus GSF for a bank vault sedan with a seductive V8 (and I could own this for years)

I switched to Audi. Constant trips to the shop were the issue. At least monthly with the BMW, never except for scheduled maintenance in 3 years on the Audi. I had the 650, went to RS5.

However, I loved the 650, just couldn't keep it out of the dealers repair shop.

Lol I went the opposite direction. Drove Audi for about 10 years. Went from an S4 to a 328, 340 and now an M3. Both my A4 and S4 were constantly having problems.
